Operation: PenPal #3 - Fortuna Lockhart - 01-16-2017 @'Cassius Lestrange' @'Jonathan Webster' December 1, 1886 Mr. Webster, I hope this letter finds you well, though I'm sure a bit unexpected. Miss Maxwell, the Minister's secretary, is helping me to start a sort of writing experiment started and she suggested I write to you. I've planned to write at random with others in a way to get to better know others. A sort of trial to see how well one can truly get to know another without the rules and restrictions of society breath down one another's necks. However, I don't feel at liberty to give my name just yet though perhaps later on down the line should that be agreeable. Sincerely, RE: Operation: PenPal #3 - Jonathan Webster - 01-29-2017 @'Ellory Pendergast' [align=center] ![]() APPARITION TEST CENTRE DEPARTMENT OF MAGICAL TRANSPORTATION MINISTRY OF MAGIC, HOGSMEADE BRANCH Miss F, I admit to being interested in your little experiment! I am only slightly acquainted with Miss Maxwell, but I trust her judgement in letter-writing. I am currently the director of the Apparition Test Centre, which is much less exciting than it sounds, except for that people regularly splinch themselves and we have a medic on-site. Previously I have been a Prophet reporter, a Three Broomsticks bartender, a Quidditch commentator, a private detective, a short-lived carriage driver, and a Prophet photographer. So I have quite a breadth of experience to draw on if you have any other questions! I participate only nominally in the season, in that I am confused and not the most interested in many parties. I prefer parties with a theme, or parties that are otherwise centered around activities. Balls that are not just balls seem to be more interesting. I will happily participate. What led you to pursue this little experiment? How did you get Miss Maxwell involved? Sinc., J. Webster RE: Operation: PenPal #3 - Fortuna Lockhart - 02-03-2017 December 6, 1886 Mr. Webster, That would make for a rather interesting day to have someone splinch themselves right there in front of you. I don't know that I'd quite have the stomach for it but it certainly sounds to come with the territory of your job! And you certainly do sound to have a great deal of experience about you when it comes to work. Do you have a favorite among the wide variety? What made you decide to join the Ministry in the end? It sounds as though your other jobs would have allowed you to be out and about a bit more and I know that some can prefer that over all else. Sincerely, RE: Operation: PenPal #3 - Jonathan Webster - 03-21-2017 Dec. 10 [align=center] ![]() APPARITION TEST CENTRE DEPARTMENT OF MAGICAL TRANSPORTATION MINISTRY OF MAGIC, HOGSMEADE BRANCH Miss F, Well, I do like this one. Other than that, though, I'd say that I liked being a Quidditch Commentator - it's a very creative sort of job. Reporting was nice until I almost caught cholera, but no job is worth that amount of effort. I know very little about ball-hosting unfortunately! What you said sounds right, at the very least. That sounds like an accurate summary both of learning about people and of interacting with Miss Maxwell. Here's a simple get-to-know-you question: what was your Hogwarts house? Mine was Gryffindor. Sinc., J. Webster RE: Operation: PenPal #3 - Fortuna Lockhart - 04-07-2017 December 13, 1886 Mr. Webster, I can imagine being a Quidditch commentator to be quite fun though I don't exactly follow the sport. My father tried to dissuade me from it as it isn't exactly considered all the ladylike. I have a brother distant relation that plays professionally I believe. Though I'm not sure if he still does or not.. Sincerely, RE: Operation: PenPal #3 - Jonathan Webster - 04-14-2017 [quote='Jonathan Webster' pid='254776' dateline='1490135420'] Dec. 16 ![]() APPARITION TEST CENTRE DEPARTMENT OF MAGICAL TRANSPORTATION MINISTRY OF MAGIC, HOGSMEADE BRANCH Miss T, It's a fun sport! Much better than Quodpot. I used to commentate for the Pride of Portree; what's your favorite team? I like to play exploding snap, especially with friends. I follow the paper rather avidly. Sometimes I go on adventures. My sister has several children in Irvingly with whom I am quite friendly; does being an uncle count as a hobby? What about yourself? Sinc., J. Webster RE: Operation: PenPal #3 - Fortuna Lockhart - 04-18-2017 December 20, 1886 Mr. Webster, I don't know that I have a favorite team to be entirely honest. I don't follow it close enough though I suppose I quite like the Cannons. My relation plays for them, after all. Sincerely, RE: Operation: PenPal #3 - Jonathan Webster - 04-18-2017 Dec. 26 ![]() APPARITION TEST CENTRE DEPARTMENT OF MAGICAL TRANSPORTATION MINISTRY OF MAGIC, HOGSMEADE BRANCH Miss T, I once accidentally adopted a bear cub! The Prophet reported on it. That's a good adventure. I really recommend traveling - I haven't done much of it, but it's excellent nonetheless. I have four sisters, but only one of them is married to a wizard, so I see her children the most often. One of my other sisters, Miriam, is a muggleborn witch, and she's an auror. I don't have any brothers. Do you have any specific thoughts re: blood purity? I'm a muggleborn, as you probably surmised. Sinc., J. Webster RE: Operation: PenPal #3 - Fortuna Lockhart - 04-18-2017 December 29, 1886 Mr. Webster, A bear cub!? How does one accidentally adopt a bear cub? I suppose you no longer have him? That is quite interesting really. I've only got a kitten. I found her in the streets and nursed her back to health myself. She doesn't much care for anyone but me now though. Sincerely, RE: Operation: PenPal #3 - Jonathan Webster - 05-26-2017 Jan 3rd ![]() APPARITION TEST CENTRE DEPARTMENT OF MAGICAL TRANSPORTATION MINISTRY OF MAGIC, HOGSMEADE BRANCH Miss T, He showed up on my doorstep! I couldn't just leave him. Now he lives in the woods near a farm. Our father doesn't really talk to her anymore; but he's a muggle, anyways. She has me & Gertrude. That's good to hear. I'd hate for us to exchange letters and then you were a purist the whole time. Sinc., J. Webster |
