Inside, of course, he was leaping at the chance to be rid of the Great-Aunt who'd turned up to visit the Grimstones unexpectedly. Relieved as she loosened her iron grasp on his wrist, he left her leaning on the railing while he dashed through the gates of the Hogsmeade Hospital, striding quickling into the protection of the entrance hall of the hospital.

Injured Pretenses - Alanna Derrickson - 04-10-2011 Inside the welcome room there was a peaceful quite. The hurried sounds of the outside did not permeate the almost comforting room. Alanna thought the hulking monstrosity that her boss believed to be a welcoming desk , destroyed that atmosphere that and that too clean smell. Still, she kind of like the peace that settled around it, though it was misleading. As soon as she led someone to the back of the hospital, a structured chaos ensued. Head bent over a stack of paper, she glanced up after she heard the chiming of the door. A tall dashing aristocrat slowly strolled in. Immediately, Alanna tried to scan his body, her blue eyes probing for a wound. At first she didn't see anything wrong with him. He walked normally, abet a bit slow. Perhaps he was intoxicated? Damn, she should have looked up sooner, she couldn't really see if his leg was hurt. Then again she maybe she shouldn't have stared at his face. There was something vaguely familiar about this man. She squinted at him when he guessed her name and nearly smiled when he winked at her. This was no ordinary gentleman. She was sure she'd met him at school. They'd been friends of sorts. Before she could confirm that her name was indeed Alanna he spoke again begging her to hide him away for a minute. What in Merlin's name was going on? Alanna glanced behind him at a prudish old biddy peering in through the window. The look on her face was something between loss and glee, Alanna couldn't be sure but she definitely looked like the meddling demanding type. Obviously the man...what was his name...El..Elijah...was trying to avoid her. Alanna smiled but it didn't quite reach her eyes. "I'm well thank you. It's been a long time Elias," She murmured, suddenly remembering his name. "Should we let your shadow inside? Or is that woman stalking you?" She pointed out teasing before she could stop herself. What in the world had made her say that? She hadn't seen Elias in quite sometime, since she was sixteen for sure. Yes, they had known each other in school, shared a conversation or to and were amused together but he was barely a friend. "For give me, my tongue has escaped the censor of my brain. Do you wish to sit? I could take you to the side room if you truly need to hide from her for a few minutes." Elias replied, good-naturedly, as he watched the young woman survey him, probably in order to remember him. He had to admit, he wasn't the most memorable of people, and it had been a long time, especially when he hadn't know her all that well in the first place. But soon enough, she had his first name. But Elias wasn't sure of anything beyond matching the face to the name...who had the girl been, back at Hogwarts?
"Oh, no, I could just stand here for a minute more..." Elias murmured, but at a quick glance outside he saw the looming hunched over figure and changed his mind immediately. "Actually, if you would allow me there a short time?" He said, a crazed hopeful look dawning on his face.
Mind you, Elias remembered he hadn't been lucky with his lot in life either - of course, he had the loving family, and his parents had given everything to get their children into Hogwarts, and he'd made himself a better future... but only because what would the alternative have been?
