Let's Boot and Rally - Grace Grimm - 03-03-2013

Constance Hatchitt,

Hello cousin! (Well, second-cousin, and given our respective fathers' age gaps I am not entirely sure it counts, but.)

You must forgive me for writing unexpectedly; the Quidditch World Cup has put me in the mood to talk about Quidditch until the end of all time, despite not having made the team. (I did not expect to in the first place, with my competition being three very good keepers - while I am confident in my own abilities, they are male and you know what people think of we female Quidditch players.) Besides, not playing does not mean I cannot enjoy the QWC!

I intend to go to every game. All of them.

I was wondering what your plans are, with you being a seventh year about to finish schooling?

Grace Gallagher,

Cousins, second cousin, doesn't make much of a difference. Family is family. Unless you're bad family, then you don't deserve family.

I'm sorry to hear you won't be on the team, but at least we can be companions for a few if I wind up going? We can complain about the foreign teams, and root for the home team. And it'll be fun. Lots, and lots, and lots of fun.

I haven't made many plans other than potentially working with Mr. Grimstone and crafting brooms. Why, what'd you have in mind?

Constance Hatchitt,

I would love to go to some of the matches with you! I look forward to watching the kids from back home kill some foreigners.

Crafting brooms sounds exciting. But, in short:

I want a new seeker. You've always been a natural. You'd be second-string for at least a season, but you'd see some game time for certain.

Grace Gallagher,

You do realize I haven't played in over a year, right? I have lost a substantial amount of weight, and I'm not sure if I can even be half as good as I used to be. Are you sure you want me?

- Constance Hatchitt

Let's Boot and Rally - Grace Grimm - 03-10-2013

Constance Hatchitt,

You're seventeen, weight and experience are recovered pretty easily.

I can either have someone who hasn't played for a year but that I know is reliable, or I can struggle to find a foreigner or someone with no experience at all.

And like I said, you're a natural.

Grace Gallagher

Grace Gallagher,

Would I still have time to work under Mr. Grimstone? I'm mostly testing his brooms currently, but I want to craft them as well. And would I have a guaranteed shot at first string? I don't want to be stuck behind someone my entire life when I'm a "natural".

Constance Hatchitt,

I don't think it would be hard for you to work with him around our schedule; after all, pro quidditch players write books or breed animals or have families or whatever all the time!

Harpies don't usually last more than a few seasons, they tend to get married on me. And when you end up better than the first-string seeker, I'm sure the sponsors would switch you around.

Grace Gallagher,

When would you need me to start? I can leave school on the next Hogsmeade weekend. We don't need NEWTs to become quidditch players.

- Constance Hatchitt

Constance Hatchitt,

When's that? You can start with practice as soon as you leave school.

If you catch up remarkably quick you can debut in our April game. If not, I promise to get you in a real game before the season closes.

Grace Gallagher,

I can leave today if it means I get to play in April.

Grace you are an ATROCIOUS INFLUENCE

Constance Hatchitt,

Deal.

It's settled with the team's owner. Come to my house ([insert Grace's address here]) and we'll head to Holyhead to introduce you to everyone. Once that's settled, we're going to talk to Mr. Quiddel from the Prophet. As insufferable as the man is, he has his uses, and one of them is telling the world that we have a new second-string seeker.

I am so so so glad to have you join us!

Grace Gallagher
P.S. Warn your parents so they don't yell at me.

Let's Boot and Rally - Constance Hatchitt - 03-10-2013

Grace Gallagher,

They're going to yell regardless, be prepared. Gabe may yell too. I don't know. I expect a lot of yelling.

I'll be there in an hour or two, I need to pack.

Constance Hatchitt,

Gabe is too young to yell at me properly.

See you then!
