MY LIFE AS A RAT
NOT THE WORST BOOK YOU'LL EVER READ, PROBABLY |
My Life as a Rat is the debut book from author Gertrude Couch. It is the supposedly true story about how she spent several years, transfigured as a rat after scorning the affections of a particularly adamant suitor. Miss Couch describes her time running from hungry cats, and the years she spent as the family pet of a family somewhere in Wales. I didn't read this book, but my secretary did, and she said it was quite badly paced, and not especially believable, as Miss Couch often seems to get certain details about rats confused with other animals entirely. _____________________________________________________________ |
My secretary did, however say that the book is quite funny, albeit unintentionally, throughout, so if nothing else, it might be worth a read if you need a good laugh. Also, if you enjoy dreadful prose, characters too unintelligent to function in real life, and the general feeling that you are actually reading a very elaborate, fabricated story, you might not hate this.
