ROGUE DEMENTOR IN SOUTHERN ENGLAND
AZKABAN CLAIM NO RESPONSIBILITY |
Reports of a rogue dementor have been gathering steam over the last 48 hours. Initially believed to be a hoax after Azkaban confirmed that none of their dementors had left the island and all were accounted for, further confirmations of a dementor presence now lead the Ministry to believe that there may be a real dementor at the heart of it after all. The dementor was initially reported to the Ministry by an anonymous wizard from Kent. It was believed to be a mistake, although Azkaban was contacted just to confirm. All dementors were accounted for and with no other sightings, it was dismissed as a hoax. However, muggles in a Surrey hamlet found themselves inexplicably cold and depressed only a day later. Fortunately, no other harm came to them. _____________________________________________________________ |
A few other sightings have since been reported by wizards local to the Kent, Surrey, and Essex counties but no dementor has been found. One wizard says he actually came under attack from the dementor but managed to repel it. By the time Ministry officials were dispatched, the dementor could not be found. The origins of this dementor are unknown, although it is likely a dark wizard is behind it as dementors are wont to linger in places where terrible atrocities have taken place rather than wander. It is possible that this dementor is indeed acting alone if its habitat was destroyed but even that is highly unlikely. If you come across a dementor, the best method for defending oneself is believed to be the patronus charm. If you cannot conjure a patronus, you are recommended to flee and report the incident to the Ministry as soon as possible. AUTHOR: IAN PENGLOSS |
