Hogwarts Is My Home

Back in school. Hogwarts. Acacia was quite happy with this change in her position in life. She could finish school, get the classes she needs, and get good grades in NEWTs for a fantastic job. A job to support her family, to support her future. As well as this, she would eventually need a husband, and she knew it. But she was not going to think about that now.

Walking into the great hall, she looked around for familiar faces. Friends. Talking to friends was a must. Part of her worried that she wouldn't have as many now... some she had lost contact with, and others hadn't talked to her at all during summer. Perhaps she would be spotted before she spotted someone, hoping to not make things awkward.

With the changes in the government, she was glad to her that even the half breed ban has been lifted. That would mean that they would be given a chance once again to go back even if they had to repeat a year. It was a small price to pay though she doubt that many of those in the lower class would have the choice. For them feeding themselves and surviving was much more important than knowledge. And there was Miss Uquart, her dear friend and a bright student who would never have the chance to return to this establishment nor have a normal life.

As head girl, she was obliged (or at least she felt the need) to talk the returning students, both from the holiday and the ban. “Hello Miss Ruskin! How have you been?” she greeted after seeing the younger girl looking a bit lost.
