Ellory duels with Antigone Lestrange at a tea party. Her mother punishes her by having Tig cast Crucio on her. That makes Ellory hate her mother even more, as if their relationship wasn't strained enough.

On a brighter note, she debuts on her nineteenth birthday.

Ellory ends up in Mexico after accidentally touching a Portkey not intended for her. She wanders in the middle of nowhere for days, until she ends up in an inferi-infested temple. Thankfully, she is rescued by Reuben Crouch, the man the Portkey was intended to. The two bond afterwards and share cutesy moments of food fighting and wrestling in the grass. Sadly, this Roman Holiday of theirs can't last forever and they have to return to Britain, where he tries to distance himself from her.

The two interact on numerous occasions. Most notably: he visits her window after she vomits on him at a party, and the two cause chaos on Diagon Alley thanks to his Time Cane.

Meanwhile, Ellory's mother tries to set her up with Ben's twin brother, Roman.

Things get awkward when Ellory jokes about marrying Roman at Hogwarts' CoB.. Ellory is convinced that he hates her and some rumours about her changing her wardrobe to impress Roman don't help. They fight about it at the jousts.

After hearing some rumours about Ben being worried about a Miss Blackwood, Ellory foolishly confronts him about it. It ends up with her getting splinched and them confessing their feelings for each other while trying to get her help. Things get awkward as they don't fully cut contact with each other. He sends her a pair of gloves and a note to apologize and Ellory writes back. She also writes to him when she hears that he was present at some protests.

Days later there is a catastrphe at the World Market and Ellory's mother is trapped in what was once the building. Ben Crouch is also presumed missing. Ellory ironically finds out about her mother's demise while she was about to risk her life to rescue Ben Crouch.

Ellory's sister, Rosalind, also dies around the same time.

At Olivia's funeral, Ellory confides to her old betrothed, Ned Macmillan, that her mother used the Cruciatus Curse on her.

Ellory and Ben's paths cross once again shortly after Rosalind's funeral. It only takes her a week before she contacts him. They make plans to play tennis at the Irvingly Casino. In a midst of a robbery attempt that involves Peruvian Instant Darkness Powder, Ellory tries (and fails) to make a move on Ben.

This encourages Ben, who pays her a night visit with a flying carpet. Proving Murphy's law, things go terribly wrong. It doesn't occur to Ben that after Olivia's death Ellory would no longer live there, so instead of Ellory, he finds her cousin Elmer Macmillan at the window. He has awkward interactions with him and Ellory's old betrothed, Ned Macmillan. A series of emotional letters follow between Ellory and Ben. He convinces her that he intended to take advantage of her and she's heartbroken.

The Reuben Crouch chapter of Ellory's life finds its inglorious end when their families get involved. Ellory's sister and new guardian sends copies of Ben's letters to his brothers and he is forced to leave the country so things can cool down and the Lestranges don't go hard on his family.
