1860 — Ada was born.
1872 — Waldo was born bald and really exceptionally ugly for a house elf. A few months later he sprouted copious amounts of hair. It quickly becomes apparent that Waldo has a thing for wandering off and is rarely found in the same place twice.
1873 — Still very small, Waldo decides to wrap himself up in a large lump of bread dough that’s been left briefly unattended by his mother. He falls asleep there and his mother nearly bakes him alive.
1876 — His hair was so long that it would tickle his nose. One day he climbed into a bramble bush to hide, but when he climbed out his hair got tangled and most of it was ripped out. He mourned his hair for weeks and vowed to protect what little he had remaining. The hair he had lost never grew back.
1879 — Waldo gets reprimanded for being lazy. His punishment unfortunately does not reform him, though obviously he cannot disobey a direct order.
1881 — He learns to bake but he’s not very good at it.
1885 — He changes ownership.

He likes his new master as he seems to be less strict which means he can get away with goofing off more.
