The Debut of Miss Natsuko Mountbatton The Debut of Miss Natsuko Catherine Mountbatton, only child and heir of General Eugene Mountbatton, Military Ambassador of England to Japan and India. Miss Mountbatton has recently returned to England upon the completion of her education at Mahoutokoro, where she graduated with high honours, wearing gold robes at the time of her graduation. Miss Mountbatton was entirely responsible for the planning and preparation of her coming out ball, in light of being an orphan and the death of her only surviving relative, her aunt Miss Elissa Mountbatton, late of Hogsmeade. The event was in keeping with the arrival of the World Wizarding Fair, and very much celebrated the culture of the young lady in question. Miss Mountbatton's coming out coincides with the Japanese festival of the Star, an evening which celebrates two celestial lovers separated by the universe who can meet on this one night, perhaps Miss Mountbatton is hoping to meet a star crossed lover of her own very soon.

The young hostess provided Kimonos, a traditional dress of Japan, for those ladies who were interested in exploring the fashion of the mysterious Orient, as well as hair ornaments and even some small trinkets. Miss Mountbatton herself wore two distinctive dresses that evening, the first was a white Kimono of finely detailed silk, with a vivid red underlay, for her entrance and for her performances. The other was a brilliant flame red gown, decorated with gold, much more in the English style but made of the beautiful fabrics of her native land. The young lady looked very striking, and rather stood out, an oriental flower in a garden of English roses, and had taken great pains to effortlessly blend the culture tradition of her native Japan with the fashion and cultivation of her adoptive homeland.
The evening saw a light supper provided for the guests which included many English and Japanese delicacies. After which the lady of the moment performed the 'Tanabata' song on a traditional Japanese instrument, followed by a dance in honour of the festival of the star. After dark, lanterns were released into the night sky above Hogsmeade in honour of the young lady, and with good wishes for her friends and guests. After which guests resumed their festivities, and danced into the small hours to the strains of the Agrippa String Quartet
The event was attended by many members of the ministry, and notable foreign friends of Miss Mountbatton's, who had traveled a considerable distance to celebrate the evening with the young lady.
Whoever is in charge of your potion recipe articles should be sacked forthwith! My daughter, bless her soul, attempted to brew the Beauty Potion featured in last week's issue and nearly burned her skin off! The poor girl never had more than an OWL in Potions, but she still thought she could manage it anyway. Even a small note about the difficulty of the potions would be preferable to this! Now she must spend the remainder of the season in the Potion and Plant Poisoning ward. Shame!
Furiously,
A Mother
