    NOVEMBER 2ND 1887

T he Auror department announced very early on the morning of November 1st that there was a killer on the loose in magical London! The unknown murderer, having now been dubbed as the "Jack-o-Lantern Murderer", murdered three women after various Halloween parties across the cities. His name comes from the method in which he committed the murders: the victims were found decapitated with their heads stuffed inside magically-enlarged turnips!

Two of the young ladies have not been identified yet, but the Ministry coroner has stated that all three women were in their early to mid-twenties. The only known victim was identified as Miss Catherine Parker, a middle class debutante from Dublin. She was visiting her sister in London for her and her husband's Halloween party, but disappeared from the ballroom and was found hours later outside near a small pond. She is survived by her mother and father, as well as two younger brothers and her elder sister.

All three young ladies were identified as having brown hair and light eyes. Was this a mere coincidence? Or has the Jack-o-Lantern murderer demonstrated a preference for his victims? While no official suspects have been named yet, it's been said that two witnesses from two separate parties described seeing similar-looking men dancing with the two unidentified victims before the end of the night. He is described as a man of average height and build, with short, dark brown hair and a mustache. He wore no costume in either event, but was described as wearing different outfits.

Citizens are advised to stay indoors during the night hours — especially young ladies who fit the description of the victims. Aurors and investigators are working around the clock to identify and apprehend the suspected murderer.
