    Half-Breed Ban Update
    DECEMBER 30TH 1887

In an unexpected turn of events it has been announced today by the Board of Governors that they have overturned the half-breed ban. That's right, readers: known half-breeds will be allowed to return to Hogwarts. This development comes as a result of cooperation between Minister Ross' new administration, the Ministry's Department of Magical Education, and the Board of Governors.

"It really came down to an issue of safety," Mr. Evander Darrow, Assistant Head of the Department of Magical Education, said to reporters, "We cannot have an uneducated magical population, and an uneducated half-vampire or
half-veela is a threat to themselves and others." The Board of Governors, perhaps wanting to avoid combatting the Ministry, voted unanimously to overturn the ban.

Half-breeds who return to Hogwarts will do so under the same policy as the returning full-humans who were banned; they will spend this spring repeating the lessons from their most recently completed year, and will proceed to the next year in the autumn.
