    Off-Season Quidditch Bracket Scheduled
    JANUARY 4TH 1888

TThom Pettigrew, sponsor of Puddlemere United and owner of international Quidditch manufacturer Quality Quaffle & Snitch, has announced his intention to sponsor an amateur Quidditch tournament during the off-season early next year.

The event is co-sponsored by Chudley Cannons' sponsor Nathaniel Gallivan, Roberto Devine of the Kenmare Kestrals, and Hogsmeade Howler's Mitch Quiddel, and will take place at the Howler's stadium in Irvingly's Hawthorne Hollow this February following the playoff games for the professional Quidditch season.
Proceeds from the tournament will be gifted to the Player's Union, a charitable organization which provides for injured professional players and their families until they are ready to take to the pitch again.

Many of the exact details of the tournament are still to be determined, but potential players for the amateur bracket will be able to register for the tournament beginning next month. There is no fee to enter and no particular requirements for players. Women will also be allowed to participate should they show the inclination.

Matches will be open to the public for a small entrance fee, and all of the usual amenities of professional Quidditch matches will be available. The winners of the tournament will also win a modest pot of prize money and have the opportunity to face off against a team of professional players assembled from the rosters of the sponsoring teams.
