Today people all over the country are shocked as the death of Miss Gabriella Atkinson was revealed. Miss Atkinson, 16, had come out last year after completing her fifth year at Hogwarts. After the horrors of last summer and now this, it seems that the poor former Hufflepuff will never know the joys of a proper season and finding a husband.
The details of Miss Atkinson’s death are not something to be shared. Upon receiving the details from the department of magical law enforcement I thought I would faint! Let it just be said that the crime was most heinous, and that her body could only be identified by her clothes and her necklace.
Do not worry, dear readers, we have not yet jumped to conclusions and written an article before confirming the victim’s identity. I myself went over to Miss Atkinson’s family, and they indeed confirmed that it had been her. They, understandably, refused to make a comment, so instead I found some old school friends of hers.
“Miss Atkinson was always such a nice girl!” _____________________________________________________________
one friend of Miss Atkinson's (who is still a current student) told me via a letter, “I knew from the moment I met her I knew we would always be good friends! And I thought we always would be, however she came out last year and I am still here at Hogwarts, and now this.” Another old friend of hers wrote back saying, “she was such a romantic girl, always reading books like Pride and Prejudice, Potions and Charms, and Love in Diagon Alley. She would have made a wonderful wife for some man.”
That is possibly the saddest of all. The loss of young life is always sad, but think of the children that could have been born from some fantastic union, the gossip that could have occurred over how large and romantic her wedding might have been, and how much coverage we could have had over Miss Atkinson’s clothes (for the young girl was incredibly pretty and fashionable). For all those of you who wish to pay their respects, Miss Atkinson’s funeral is to take place on Wednesday.
