You Found Love In A Hopeless Place - Love Darby - 08-09-2017

It seemed that Love's sisters were quite determined to push Love into every social event that was happening that season. They had been especially excited about the Hunt and they had chattered about how the hostess of the hunt had won the Fit For a Queen Ball. Love's family was not purist and had attended the hunt before.
As had she, apparently, only she didn't remember. That was quite inconvenient but she had managed to make it through the day so far. This was only the first day though so she was already feeling anxious about how the rest of their time at the Adinbury Hunt would go.
She, her sister and her sister's husband had wandered into the maze for the afternoons event. Love was not sure when it had happened but her sister and brother had gone one way while she had gone another. By the time she had realized her solitude and had turned back, she had gone far enough that she felt all turned around and had no clue which way went where.
Moving along each path way and finding two that only ended in dead ends. She was on the verge of panicking, really. Love turned a corner and let out a surprised gasp as she just barely avoided a collision with a gentleman.

Célian wasn't too sure what to make of everything so far, the grounds were exquisite and upon arriving he had been dutifully attended and the hostess of this lavish affair was to greet, and Célian was sure he wouldn't forget that sight for some time, she had looked stunning in a white ensemble and for the first time the bachelor began to seriously think about his future and finding a bride. But for the moment he found himself walking aimlessly around the maze, quiet and content to enjoy the greenery around him. Perhaps a maze should be placed at his estate it seemed like a nice way to unwind and find time for yourself, that gave a sense of privacy. As he meandered around a figure was suddenly in his path and he halted as a figure barely managed to run into him.
He found himself smiling down at a pretty blond, but his smile was lost when he saw that she seemed a bit distressed, concern was in his voice as he addressed her. "It is okay, did you get separated from someone? I can help you, if you would allow me the honor." The Frenchman flashed a reassuring smile as he held out his arm for her to take.

Love was visibly much like a spooked horse as her bright blue eyes blinked up at the stranger. She couldn't recall having met him before but then again, she couldn't recall meeting anyone she had met prior to her accident. Some things had come back while most memories seemed to be destined to be locked away in the recesses of her mind forever.
"My - my sister and brother in law. They were with me but I must have went the wrong way," she said, fretting a bit. "I'm Miss Love Darby and I would appreciate guidance out of the maze, at the very least." Even if he somehow knew her sister and brother in law, it wasn't like he'd be able to find them in here. They might just end up even more lost.

Célian smiled when she gave her name, it was a bit peculiar but seemed fitting for her. As they began a slow walk the Frenchman offered his name. "My name is Célian Marchand, Miss Darby and I am quite pleased to meet you this way." He offered with a bit of a laugh. "Now, I am no expert on mazes, but I do believe that most are built with a couple of ways in and out. I believe we have come quite close to the heart of the maze, so we shall travel outwards and away." Célian kept his stride small, mostly because Miss Darby herself was of diminutive stature, but also because he didn't want them to leave the maze too quickly. "Are you a friend of our hosts? Or is your sister and brother in law who have the honor?"

"You enjoy meeting damsels in distress?" Love asked, slightly teasing. She was still wary but she had definitely not had her sense of humour knocked out of her. Love smiled as he offered suggestions on how they could get out of the maze. "Oh, not particularly," she answered when he asked if she or her family was a friend of the hosts. "Just notable enough to be invited, I suppose." That was how these sorts of events usually worked, after all though for all she knew maybe one her family members was friendly with one of the hosts. She wouldn't know.

Célian chuckled at her jest, witty and beautiful with a good humor, how fortunate he was to have decided to stroll through the maze at that moment. He nodded his blonde head at her comment, he was not particularly close to the hosts either, but sometimes that was the purpose of these events, to deem who was 'worthy' enough to pull close to the family and who wasn't. As they wandered along Célian noted that there wasn't too many other people around. Not quite sure what to say next, he decided to go with something safe. "You must've attended Hogwarts correct?"
