The Pro Quidditch Bracket
The playoffs for the Professional Quidditch Cup begin on January 1st, featuring the top 12 teams from the played season. The playoffs are done in a 'sudden death' style a la soccer/eurofootball (according to MJ I know very limited sport) and this challenge is done in a STANLEY CUP BRACKET style.For those of you not familiar with the concept of the bracket, basically you make predictions as to who will win each game/the overall cup. In a mostly-randomized (more on that further down) mechanism I will roll for each 'round' of the playoffs and update people. Whosoever gets everything right - or the most things right - gets first pick of prizes. Go on over to the spreadsheet and read the instructions/template on the first page. Then, create a new page with your name and fill out your predicted winner of each game in place of the Italics. When you're done, post here and I'll like your post to approve your bracket. Your bracket can't be an exact replica of another members', so poke around to make sure your guesses are original! (There are by my math way too many possible variations so this shouldn't be hard.) Brackets are due by 11:59 PM EST on January 4th at which point the spreadsheet will be locked to editing. There is a very slight modifier based on the teams' places at the end of the season, which were: 1. Portree None of the moderators are more than 1.5/-1.5 and they're scaled. FUN FACTS. The five players who get the most right games will get their choice of prizes (first-come first-serve in terms of whoever 'wins!') Round 1 games are played on January 6th, with results published OOC & IC on the 6th. Round 2 games are played on January 14th, with results published OOC & IC on the 14th. Round 3's game is played on 22nd with results published OOC & IC on the 23rd. The QUIDDITCH CUP FINAL is played on January 30th with results published OOC SAME-DAY O MAN!! IC NEXT DAY. Thom biases me so hard that I felt like I had to rush through and get my bracket finished so I could "claim" that particular combination of results.
Because obviously everyone expects Puddlemere to win and there are only a certain number of combinations within that. ;)

On the "please love Quidditch as much as I love Quidditch" front, my rationale:
Game A: Had no opinions but Portree is higher on the list.
Game B: PUDDLEMERE FOREVER.
Game C: Sorry Art, Ben loves you and all, but not as much as Lynn loves an NPC team whose entire function is to cause horrific Quidditch injuries.
Game D: I was going to pick Appleby but was worried I was biasing myself towards played teams and they can't all win.
Game E: LockMuse.
Game F: Ophelia wants Roberto's team to win.
Game G: /PUDDLEMERE FOREVER
Game H: Ophelia wants Roberto's team to win but again not as much as Lynn wants NPC Horrific Injury Team to play more matches.
Game I: Wigtown because Cannons have an canonically poor track record with championships I'm pretty sure.
And then PUDDLEMERE FOREVER again for Game J/finals.

Hey @'Cassius Lestrange'! Since I usually see pro sports match schedules written as "Visiting Team @ Home Team," I'm working under the assumption that the second team listed is the stadium where the game is played - ie. the Chudley/Banchory match would have been on the Cannons' pitch. Is that okay or am I way off base?
Also for the sake of this thread I'm writing I'm pretending the Chudley/Banchory game was reasonably short; is that okay or do you have some sort of system that conflicts with my baseless assumptions? ;)
