    September 10 1883,
    Dearest Mrs. Macmillan,

    How is the Mrs feeling?!

You have been married for four days! I bet that you and Cousin Charles are having so much fun. Where did he take you, Noelle? A castle, perhaps? I bet that you are like Tristan and Isolde! Except the unfortunate ending, of course!

You should tell me everything! Well, not everything, but I want to know what being married to a Macmillan is like. You know, for encyclopedic purposes.

    Fondly,
    Ellory

    Dear Ellory
I am not sure I can tell you a lot, Ellory. Life is pretty much the same, except I do not have a chaperone.

I am counting down the days until I will return to Hogwarts. I am looking forward to seeing you and talk with you again, letters are simply not the same.

I am in Nice, it is very pretty I guess, but it seems so – average, like he has not even tried to think of something else.

I miss Hogwarts and Hogsmeade. I mean, school year, London for two months, Hogsmeade for a month where I hardly had time to be anywhere but at home preparing the wedding, and now I am in Nice for a month. I look forward to getting home and just staying there for a longer time.

No Tristan and Isolde, sorry to break your hope Ellory. I am not suited for such things, and honestly, it seems very far from Mr. Macmillan as well.

I am trying to get to know him better, it is a slow process, but – at least I am trying.

I am sure your marriage with Mr. Macmillan will be perfect and wonderful, you are – well, less the trouble child, than I am. Which is good, trust me Ellory.

    September 10 1883,
    Dearest Noelle,

Nice sounds as a wonderful place, don't be such a grumpy duck! It is such a popular destination for a reason and you should be happy that he took you there rather than in some terrible village in the middle of nowhere. Things could have been worse and Nice is even near the sea! I know for sure that I would be happy to go there for my honeymoon, though I'd prefer Italy for sure. Venice or Naples! But we shall not talk about me, we should talk about you.

You sound way too dark, my dear. Of course you are like Tristan and Isolde! You have just not realized it yet. I am certain that my cousin is secretly very fond of you but he is just too shy to admit it! And you are not encouraging him at all by being so gloomy! Smile, Noelle! It just takes a smile for your life to become wonderful.

Being the trouble child has nothing to do with whether your marriage is happy or not, Noelle. Using that logic me and Mr. Macmillan will be miserable because I am my mother's least favourite child! You are just being too dark and gloomy and you should grow out of it.

You should ask Mr. Macmillan to go horse-riding with you, Noelle! That will help you bond and be close to each other! And you could even fake it that you fell from your horse so you could see how much he loves you!

    Fondly,
    Ellory

    Dear Ellory
Well, I guess it could have been worse. Why is it that you are always able to make me see brighter on things? I wish you were here to help me.

I hope you get to Italy on your honeymoon, maybe I will be able to influence Mr. Macmillan

You have far too much faith in my abilities to be a perfect young lady. It just feels strange smiling and being so happy, when it feels like he still does not care for me.

Oh trust me Ellory, being the trouble child has EVERYTHING to do with this. My mother still cared about you, and like you, no matter what your own mother thinks. I am not liked by anyone in the family, I know it sounds very bad, for both me and my mother, but sometimes I feel like she cares more about her nieces and nephews than she cares about me.

I should not have said that, please do not hate my mother. I have not been easy lately, so it is my own fault.

I would love to go horse-riding, maybe I should ask him? I have always loved horse-riding, those few times I have been allowed.

But I am not sure about the faking falling off part. Riding in side-saddle is hard enough.

    September 10 1883,
    Dearest Noelle,

I am sure he cares about you, dear! He is just very serious. I do not know him that well myself, but in the few times we've been together he always seemed as a serious boy. So perhaps that is the reason you think he does not care about you because I am sure that he does!

And Aunt Katherina surely loves you too. I know that she was busier with our Italian cousins this summer, but you cannot blame her for it! My mother seemed quite concerned about them as well. You should not pay too much attention to everything Aunt Katherina says. I am sure that if she ever hurt you it was because of hasty words of anger. No mother is capable of hating her child.

Not to mention that she did well in betrothing you with my cousin along with Uncle Edric. We are going to be sisters one day, Noelle! Isn't that great? I can already imagine our family dinners, it will be great.

As for horse riding, you should definitely ask him! Do you think that my Mr. Macmillan will like horse-riding as well? I haven't done it in years, but I did use to ride a pony when I was little.

    Fondly,
    Ellory

    Dear Ellory
I am used to people not caring about me, why should he be any different?

Well, he does have a serious job, an auror is not exactly just something you become.

I guess you are right, she loves me, deep down. But I sometimes feel like she does not show it to me. Like, she forgets that I have a need to see it sometimes.

I was actually poisoned while in London. It started as a cold, but my mother accidently sent poison to me. But I survived.

I look forward to become your sister. But it is still two years Ellory. Far too long time.

I will ask him tomorrow. I promise to write soon.

    Dearest Noelle,

You shouldn't be so gloomy, Noelle! I have always cared for you and I always will. And Charles is my cousin, so he has to share my feelings. My father's side of the family have always been warmer people, trust me. Father has always been the less terrifying one of my parents and I like Uncle Reuben and Aunt Helena well enough. You are so lucky to have Aunt Helena as you mother-in-law, she's the greatest!

You will get used to the family soon enough, Noelle. I do not want to speak as I am already a Macmillan, but they are my cousins and I know them well enough to tell you that they will care about you. And when we become sisters you will never have to worry about someone not caring about you. We could spend all the time together, drink our tea and talk about silly things our children and husbands did!

I can't wait to learn if he agreed to go horse-riding. Tell me all the details!

    Fondly,
    Ellory

    Dear Ellory
Thank you Ellory, but you are one out of – how big is our family again? – and I do not even share feelings with my sisters, how can you expect your cousin to share feelings with you?

Well, it is usually the Lestrange side of the family that is seen as cold and icy – just take a look at Uncle Lucius or cousin Orestes.

You are practically a Macmillan, dear Ellory – I mean you are betrothed to the heir. You should be proud and happy about that. I still envy you a little bit, but you deserve the best, and most of all you deserve to be happy.

Well, I asked him if we could go horse-riding and he agreed. He did not seem very happy about it, but he agreed.

I did not fall, not on purpose and not by accident, but I really enjoyed it. Now I will have more happy memories from my honeymoon.

    Dearest Noelle,

You talk as if getting the heir is the most important thing in the world! Charles may be the second son, but that does not mean that he lives in the slums. Besides, you should look at more than just money, dear. Like personality, how good a person is! I know for sure that I would be happy to be betrothed with Edward even if he was the third son.

I am sure that Charles is lovely even if you think that he's cold and boring. I bet that he was very happy but you seem to have that tendency to think that everyone is grumpy! And maybe Charles is just afraid of horses, that doesn't mean that he hates you!

Don't be so solemn. I am sure that your honeymoon is great, if only you were less grumpy you could see it yourself. Why don't you go to the sea next? Nice is close to the sea, isn't it?

    Fondly,
    Ellory

    Dear Ellory
It was to me. Have you considered that I am the only out of four sisters who did not marry an heir? I have always wanted to prove that I am just as good as my sisters, that I am something special. Now I am just a failure, who was too scared of not being able to find herself a husband and had to ask her parents to make a betrothal for her.

Maybe I should just get to know Charles better? It is still weird saying his name and thinking of him as my husband, but. Well, if he is afraid of horses, then I am very VERY grateful that he took me horse-riding anyway. I could ask him if we should do something he wants to do? To make up for asking if we could go horse-riding.

I will keep the sea-idea in my head, but I am not much for the sea – I tan FAR too easily for my own liking, even with parasol, hat etc, you can still see it clearly. And YES, I use a little bit of whitening powder, but it doesn’t work properly because I am already slightly sun-kissed.

    September 11 1883,
    Dearest Noelle,

Cousin Nephele also did not marry a first son the second time but she seems happier with Cousin Priam than she was with Mr. Thicknesse. And look at my sisters, Noelle! Linaeve was married to a heir and she ended up ruining herself because she was not happy with him. Now she's probably living at the slums or might as well be dead. You see how far being married to a heir got her! Evelyn did marry a heir and they do seem happy, but I think that could be the case even if Mr. Abercombie was a second or a third son. Then, Rosalind was betrothed to what, a third son who worked as a reporter and she did not complain as much as you do! She could definitely complain that I, the youngest sister got the heir and she got the third son but she did not.

Besides, if money is what you are concerned about, nobody is saying that Charles cannot become richer! Perhaps in the future he'll manage to make his own fortune that would be larger than Edward's and then him not being an heir would not matter that much. It is not as if Edward is going to inherit the throne of England along with the Macmillan fortune when Uncle John dies! But even if that was the case then you'd be a royal Duchess and that would be as good as being Queen and then your daughter could marry my son or Charles could invade some other country and he'd be King there and you'd be his Queen.

    Fondly,
    Ellory

    Dear Ellory
I have never understood Nephele, she is mother’s favorite of all of us.

Okay, so we have some unlucky betrothals in the family, it does not mean that ours is. And you just tell me if your betrothed is treating you bad or if you are sad about it. I will do anything to make sure your future is happy, trust me. Even with the Vow.

Thank you, Ellory. It made me laugh, reading of how Edward would inherit the throne of England and I would become a duchess or maybe even a queen if Charles invaded a country of his own.

I have not laughed so honestly for ages, years even.

It is official, you are the best cousin and future sister anyone could ever wish for.

    Dearest Noelle,

I'd rather not end up with a dead husband and a dead cousin because you thought he made me unhappy, dear! And I doubt that it will ever happen, for he seems to be a good person so far.

I am glad that I made you laugh! That is what you must do most, really. If you weren't so gloomy all the times everything would be so much better in your life.

I am looking forward to seeing you again. Do not forget to write to me if something new happens!

    Fondly,
    Ellory
