June 15, 1884

I have delivered a life into the world as of June thirteenth. She is the most precious little thing. My raven hair and Edmunds wonderful hazel eyes. Edmund has rarely left my side except to begrudgingly work through his shifts at the hospital. I have been so exhausted but otherwise, I am healthy and well.

September 5, 1884

There was wonderful news in the Prophet today! There is now a cure for that horrid laughing plague. Oh, I am so excited! And the quarantine is to be lifted in a couple of days as well. I cannot wait, I miss my home. And quite frankly, the further we are from Edmunds mother, the happier I am.

The quarantine lifted today!
But Eddie has not given any word as to when we will go back to Hogsmeade.
I hope it is soon.

September 9, 1884

While Eddie was at work, his mother came by. Ugh.
I'm going to kill that woman someday.
She also should have more sense than to arrive unannounced!
I was tempted to muss myself up to make her think she interrupted me and Eddie in the throes of passion. But as I wrote before, Eddie was at work so that would not have worked.

September 11, 1884

We went home and the extent of the damage the fire did is horrible. We were among the more lucky ones as only the interior was destroyed while others lost homes completely. Some lost lives. Luckily, I had the momentos of Alexander with me as I keep them in my small treasure box that I take with me when we travel. I would have grieved all over again for as much as I love Edmund, he cannot replace those memories. Even if we did all of the things Alexander and I had done together, it would not be the same. Because my loves are both very different.

September 13, 1884

We attended the Hogsmeade Park Social today. Edmund did wonderfully at croquet. The refreshments were delicious and the dinner more so. It was nice to say people of all classes partaking in the event. There is rarely events open for all the classes. Would it be damaging to Edmunds reputation if I was to hold an event where lower class people, including servants, were allowed to attend and enjoy themselves?

Charity, one of the servants I am more fond of, seriously needs something other than work to occupy her time. She continues to work even on her free days and hours. As do a couple of our other staff members. And Cook has been eyeing me like she knows something about me that I do not.

I want to go home.
This London property is nice but it is not our 'home'.
Why won't he tell me the progress? He usually tells me important things like this.

There is a ball tonight but we have decided against attending as I have not been feeling well as of late. Instead, we are spending a quite evening at home.

I am still not recovered from delivering the twins into the world. Edmund is worried, I can tell. I don't know what will happen but I am positive that now is not my time.

I managed a few steps! Perhaps I won't spent the rest of my life as a cripple, after all.

November 01, 1885

My legs are working so much more better now. Edmund is relieved, I can tell. We are still putting off our annual holiday visit to his parents, however, for which I am glad. Christopher might have ended up accidentally getting the idea to leave ants in his grandmothers sitting room had we gone.

December 01, 1885

Christmas is fast approaching. Life is settling down. We have been married for over two years. Somehow, it still strikes me as surreal.

December 26, 1885

Christmas has passed once again. The children were delighted with their gifts, I do believe. Edmunds gifts for me were perfection as always, of course. Life seems to be settling peaceably, much to our mutual relief.

01 January 1886

It is a new year. I think my resolution for this year will be to attend more functions. But they are so bothersome and Edmund personally prefers being home to such things. Still, it would not be remiss to make some social connections.

We're trapped inside our own home by the blizzard. This is terrible. The children are restless and driving the staff - and us - absolutely batty. We've set up a temporary home for those of them that are not live in help but I am sure they are worrying about their homes immensely.
