This "journal" is actually a bunch of tossed papers that Joella keeps bound together for writing on. It had no cover or clear indicator to whom the mass of papers belongs to and could easily be mistaken for garbage. The writing is barely eligible since Joella is only now learning to write.

January 1, 1884.

It's a new year. Another year of misery. Bah. I saw someone eating a rat and am thankful we are not bad off enough to have to eat rats. Is that a sad thing to be thankful for though?
Hm, I think in 1884, I will be less gloomy. I'll try to be a bit more cheerful.
I have my family so life isn't all that bad, right? Heres to hoping I can keep this resolution.

I think I spelled those words right. Will ask one of my sisters after though they say they can't read my writing.

September 1, 1885

Well, Cleo has gone off to Hogwarts. I do wonder what house she got into. I can't wait for my turn.

March 1886

I saw a flying pig! It was a very weird thing to see. I also met a girl, name of Hagrid.
Don't know if I'll be seeing her again. Seemed odd.

November 30, 1886

Today I saw a man turn into a thing. It was some sort of large animal. I have not been able to ask anyone what it is yet that actually knows. I thought adults were supposed to know everything.

June 2, 1887

Something exciting is about to happen, I think. I've heard people talking about the Queen. Why is she coming here, anyway? I was told that they treated us all bad in the past. Or maybe it was her mother. I can't remember but I feel scared of her.

I saw this Queen person and she didn't seem that great. I bet she was rich but we couldn't get near her for nothing. Oh well, it was still something new.

I wonder if I'll get to go to Hogwarts? There's some sort of thing about papers? Do I have those?
