To Pool or Not to Pool

Open to any attendee(s) of the Webster campaign press conference and social. Come play pool with Ed or intercept him before he gets there! :D

Some how Edmund had become invested in Jon actually winning this election. The transition from ‘You have got to be joking’ to ‘Oh Merlin, we are really doing this’ had been simple enough but they were waist deep in it now: A press conference with reporters and everything. At least Wes had been good enough to let them use his house. Otherwise Ed would probably have a house full of strangers at the moment.

The idea of Jon as minister was enough to break through the inevitable anxiety of an event like this and make Ed grin to himself. It would be infinitely more difficult to avoid substantial responsibility when one was in charge of the entire Ministry. Him buying a bear would pale in comparison to inflicting such an occupation on himself and on the rest of hogsmeade. And if they didn’t win, what's the worst that could happen?

Luckily, most of the focus was on Jon. Ed would field any questions that came his way but for the most part his main job was to make sure Jon didn't insult the blood purists too badly. Not that he blamed Jon on that front. Taking the general lack of chaos as a good sign he decided to head for the pool tables. He didn’t know how proper it was to encourage billiards at a campaign social but it was better than hanging around doing nothing.

Victor was voting for Jon for one main reason: hilarity. Besides that, he had liked the mans stance on so-called blood purity issues. None of the other candidates so far had really clicked with Victor but Jon somehow had. He was very much looking forward to how Jon Webster would fare in the ministral office should the man win. Things seemed to be going pretty well to his untrained in politics eyes. Victor didn't enjoy campaign socials all too much since they tended to be boring but something caught his eye. Pool tables! Now that was something he was sure no one would find in the other campaign events. "Fancy a game?" He asked of the other man approaching the pool tables. He recognized him as being Jons right hand man so perhaps he could weasel out some questions but for now his mind was not on politics.

"Absolutely," Ed said with a smile as he reached for the racking triangle. Honestly he was glad to have someone to help pass the time. He may have had a vested interest in Jon winning but that didn't exactly mean he enjoyed standing around, shaking hands, and making small talk.

In fact, if Ed had his druthers they would jump forward to the election itself. He had a sneaking suspicion that Jon actually had a chance and Ed fully planned to be the first person to congratulate him if he won.

"Edmund Grim," He introduced himself, offering a hand shake. "You play for the Arrows, right? That's my old team." He said with all the pride of a former player. He'd been retired for sometime but they'd always be 'his team'.
