    Ninian MacFusty vs. James Herondale

It would be a lie to say that Maeve did not expect—and rather hope—for Mr. Herondale to win. It would be a sad commentary on her department, after all, if one of the more experienced aurors were to lose to a civilian (even if the MacFustys were, by and large, a bit wild and unpredictable). Quickly, the redhead reviewed the rules.

    “Mr. MacFusty may start!”

After the obligatory bow, Ian attempted to cast the antler jinx. Antlers on people always looked rather amusing.

Ian speaks with a Scottish accent. If Steph tried to write it, she would offend every Scottish person to ever live.

James bowed per usual before throwing a marble he had brought with him into the air and hoping to transfigure that into a large boulder to absorb his opponent's jinx.

Herondale’s defence was unconventional, but successful. Maeve bid him to begin his offence.

This time, James attempted to transfigure his opponent into a store mannequin.

    Sorry for the lateness again!

Ian attempted to disarm his oponent.

Mr. MacFusty did not have time to finish voicing his disarming charm before his body was frozen, mid-action, in stone.

“Congratulation to Mr. Herondale,” she announced without necessity, “who has won the duel!” Reluctant to revitalize the Scot herself and risk further harm, she set out in search of someone who knew precisely what they were doing to see to it.
