    Husband Head-Butts

Lou was making plans to visit her family over the Christmas holidays. The year prior, her sister had gone somewhere with her husband’s muggle family and the others had been so busy with the shop that they told her it might not be the best year for it, even though they were just in London.

This year they were closing the puppet shop for a week (they’d insisted the clients order their gifts ahead of time) and Emyr and her husband Jacob would be able to make it. Lou knew she’d probably be spending a good portion of the week cooking and cleaning and painting puppets, but she didn’t mind an ounce.

So she needed to buy presents, now that they’d all be opening them in person. She’d already purchased her sister a lovely necklace she saved up for, and she bought her mother a simple hairpin (she liked simple things) and her father some books on different topics of magical history. Being a muggle, he was always insatiably curious about the wizard world.

She set out to find something for Jacob next, but she never really knew what to buy her brother-in-law. He was very kind, but also a little bit of a mystery to her. She knew it would need to be something magical, because – like her father – he was a muggle and was fascinated with the life of the women he’d married into.

She was looking through the window of the sweet shop when her husband – the grey and white frazzle goat that had previously been latched to her wrist by a long, soft rope cord – sudden tugged on the line enough to free himself.

“Louis,” she began to scold, but it was too late, as the man-turned-goat was suddenly giving some more bystander a horned head-butt.

Viola thought that Hogsmeade was probably the best place to do her Christmas shopping, since it was larger than Irvingly and therefore had so many more options. Also, Irvingly shops had to cater to the muggle population, and although Vi didn't personally see anything wrong with that, it grossly limited her options.

Already she'd been to the quidditch shop for her brother, and to the apothecary for a non-Christmas related errand that she'd remembered when she arrived on the high street. With her packages tucked under her arm, she was scanning the shops across the street, trying to spot one that seemed like it would hold something worthwhile for her sister's present, when something hit her in the back, nearly knocking her foward.

Thank Merlin for bustles, as it took most--though not all--of the hit, so Viola's voice was more exasperated than pained when she said, "What on Earth?" Looking around for the culprit, the very first thing she saw was a goat. What?

Mortified didn't quite cover the extent of her feelings as her husband knocked into some poor woman's behind, nearly knocking her forward against the window she was peering into. Llywelyn was quick to grab hold of Lou's collar and give him a sharp tug backwards. Perhaps she should have waited until later to let the tirade fall from her lips, but she was incredibly annoyed at the moment.

"I am so so terribly sorry," to the woman. Then, to the goat, "What on earth has gotten into you? You've always hated Christmas shopping, but really this is so thoughtless and selfish. I've told you how much your horns hurt, too, yet you continue to do things like this." To the woman again, "Did he hurt you at all? Are you alright?" Then to the goat, who let out a sharp bleat and turned away from her, "I'm not speaking to you."

Viola frankly didn't know what to make of a woman speaking to a goat on the high street, though eventually she landed on deciding the woman must be mad. It seemed most logical to her, though didn't stop her from saying, "This really isn't the place for livestock."

Her husband-turned-goat seemed now perfectly distracted, nibbling on the corner of her dress and -- irritated -- she gave her dress a sharp tug to dislodge it from his mouth. But she gave a surprised little laugh at the woman's comment and shook her head, standing straight again once she was sure she had his lead in her hands. "Oh no, he's not really livestock. Although... I suppose, technically..."

she trailed off as Lou turned to try and nibble on the woman's dress instead of her own. "Stop that!" She gave the rope a pull and Lou gave his head a shake, trotting around to stand behind her. "I'm so sorry, again... he's my husband, you see.Or was. Is." She shook her head. "But he's going to be a roast if he's not careful."

Viola took a healthy step back, thinking it was safest to keep distance from a goat and a crazy woman. "Er, your husband?"
