I imagine that, by now, you've heard of my unacceptable behaviour at Mrs. [The Hostess' Name] tea party. I am not permitted to leave the grounds of my mother's school for a month, among other things. A suitable punishement for my terrible mistake. What was I thinking?

I wish I could just disappear, this is how embarassed I feel.

You know that I could never blame you for behavior like that - we all know that I can have a temper, and Antigone is 'difficult.' I'm sorely sorry that your mother won't let you leave - I don't suppose that she'd be willing to let me visit you so we can talk about it in person?

I doubt it, but as soon as you're free we'll have to talk. Until then - you know I'll write back quickly.
