    A Proposal for Mr Southerland
    #1
    My good Mr Southerland

My name is Felix Prewett, columnist and investigative enthusiast. I have read your open call for assistants in the trade of detection and am eager to volunteer my services.

My work is the crime and politics sections of the Prophet, and in this line of employment I have acquired certain skills. I possess, I will confess, a knack for the acquisition, tracking, and confirmation of gossip and rumor, a keen skill for research, and a gift for subtlety, disguise, and discretion. I am versed, albeit an amateur, in the art of dueling and self-defensive magical combats, have some experience in the art of physical combat from singlestick to pugilism and grappling, have a working knowledge of contemporary political developments and factions in both the magical and muggle worlds, and possess not-insignificant contacts amongst a variety of classes, in locales both domestic and foreign. I am willing to work for a third the asking price, on the caveat that I have first press access to any newsworthy cases that the clientele permit you to make public (respecting, of course, those cases which by request must remain private).

I do hope you shall consider this application and accept my offer of an interview and a fruitful partnership.
    Yours,
    Felix Prewett, Esquire

    Mr. Prewett,

I admit to have found your articles in the Prophet before and admit that you do have skill for the details that many lack. I am very interested in considering you for the position, however, I would like to meet you first.

Overall, your skills sound very impressive, and we can discuss what I think you could be of use for in the field of detection further upon our meeting.

Payment will also be discussed upon our meeting.

I am available anytime during the daylight hours, however, if you would prefer to come later that would be fine as well. I have another candidate coming earlier in the day so remember that I will plan around that.

I look forward to meeting you, my address is posted where I left the invitation on the community board.

    Till we meet,

    Maxwell E. Southerland
