Conrad and his daughter, Harmony were taking breakfast in the atrium that day, allowing the bright August sun to bathe them with light. He slowly picked at his black pudding while reading the Daily Prophet, as he normally did on a weekday morning with little to obligate him. He could not see his daughter over the newspaper, but knew she was there by the quiet rustling noise she made as she ate.
"Harmony, darling, have you seen this in today's paper? Mr. Prince is retiring from his post at Hogwarts. Do you remember him there?" Conrad reads on a little more. "And look at this, the new Potions master is from Durmstrang. About time that school started learning from its European peers." He grumbled, and folded the paper a bit, taking another bite of black pudding before returning to the article.
"Shame about his family, really, they were quite good people at one time. All it takes is one bad egg though, you know... Terrific shame. Ah! And look at this, they've replaced him as deputy headmaster with some ancient, low-born halfblood. Mr. Prince has a checkered past, but he had that school going in the right direction. Did you know this Mr. Darrow when you were at school?" Mr. Young lowered his newspaper to look at his daughter, feeling more amiable at the breakfast table than he had in a long time.
