Morgana,

I do not plan to keep you long from the mountain of schoolwork under which I am sure you are struggling. I merely write to inform you that on the 31st, I shall be on the Hogwarts grounds for the Hallowe'en festivities. Though I presume you will hardly be ignorant of the occasion, the school have sent out invitations across society - and whilst they certainly ought to have been more discriminating with regards to some of the recipients, I confess I am rather partial to a masquerade. I shall be attending then... though I suspect I shall not see you there. As far as I can tell, if Hogwarts allowed its students to attend at all, it would merely be their upper years; do correct me if I am wrong, but as such, you will not be attending?*

In any case, I hope you are as well as ever. That is what I am already given to concluding from these stretches of silence, so of course you need not concern yourself by relating your day-to-day activities if the preceding supposition bears true.

While I am writing, I suppose I had better inform you that, in the process of cleaning your bedroom and rearranging your wardrobe while you are away, one of the maids scorched one of your dresses with the hot iron. She is an obscenely foolish girl, and has paid for her error, but your dress - a pale blue, I believe? - was quite ruined. Hopefully you did not care for it too much.

I am off to the theatre tonight, so will bid you adieu.
