The common room was unbearably quiet - and it wasn't even the holidays yet, only nearly, the last day of classes. As a NEWT student, Kristoffer had free periods for the rest of the day, though - as, apparently, did one of his yearmates.

He didn't talk to her that much, or indeed, hadn't used to. Now she was the quidditch commentator, though, and so that meant he'd been paying her a little more attention this year, lest she betray her own house by criticising him or the quidditch team he'd put together. And now - after the events of the summer - Kristoffer was also rather more taken with the entire notion of girls (now that he understood the fundamental truth of what they were for) and so had taken it upon himself to re-evaluate his opinion of the entire female population of Hogwarts, one by one.

Sadly, Magdelene Cadden was a sorry affair. With a stocky build and that carrot hair, she didn't have a great deal in her favour. Still - whatever she looked to be doing at the moment - Kristoffer eyed her up from across the room, both incredibly bored with everything and rather intent about possibly finding a saving grace about her somewhere.

"All packed, Miss Cadden?" Kristoffer asked, unable to let her ignore his presence any longer. "Or don't your family much want to see you over Christmas?" (He wasn't explicitly aiming for rudeness. This was just the usual tone he took with people.)

Settled on a couch, she had claimed a table and spread out parchment, ink and quill, and her potions and herbology books out to start in in her essay, not wanting to do it over break. She didn't have as many classes anymore, but her teachers seemed to make up for it by assigning more work in the classes she did. A quick look over the room told her it would likely be quite and she set to work.

She had never minded a quiet room for she was a rather quiet person by nature. It gave her a time and space to think that she normally didn't have. It was just one of those things she needed once in a while.  She didn't mind sharing a space with someone else while she thought as long as they were quite. I it was one reason she enjoyed having this tim uhh j43e off everyday while the younger children had classes.

Still, she didnt kno where to start and rather than writing, Maggie stared at the blank paper, restlessly bouncing the quill in her hand. She looked up abruptly at the sound of footsteps approaching, offer a smile before she even registered who it was.

"Mr Lestrange, no, my sister and I will be staying at the castle this year," she replied not particularly bothered by the Mr Lestrange's own brand of rudeness after having been in the same year and house as him for coming on six years now. It had likely bothered in her first few years but now that she had adjusted and settled she didn't mind. "Our family is away to see a quidditch match, and will not be back for a little while So we are staying here this year. What of you?"
