    it never sinks in

Ione was sitting alone on the grass, book in hand as she enjoyed the first few days of sunshine. It was strange how when the weather was good so many students flocked outside. Most of the other girls had parasols or suchlike to protect themselves from the sun but Ione had no choice to have any sort of shelter apart from the few trees that were scattered about.

She had started underneath one but eventually she moved, she didn't see the point in sitting out here if she was going to be in one of the dingiest parts of the grounds. So now she was sitting in a part of the lawn that was almost deserted, where she knew that she wouldn't be disturbed by anyone.

She wasn't sure why she found transfiguration so hard but she had never managed to grasp the theory behind all the spells. Of course this was true for most subjects but transfiguration was the worst, she just had to put so much more work into it than anything else. Her face was screwed up into a frown as she read and reread the same paragraph over and over again, she just couldn't get it.
