Dear Miss Witch,

I was sorted into Gryffindor. I'm not sure if I'm very happy about it as I thought I'd be a Slytherin where the powerful wizards go. But then a person from my table said that all the mean people go there so I suppose it's nice that I'm a Gryffindor? I don't want to be a mean wizard, after all. And lions are a lot cooler than snakes.

It is so good to hear from you! I'm so very happy for you, you've got the right attitude. I have never met a Gryffindor I do not like and I can proudly say that is still true! I hope you enjoy it and wish you the best of luck. Tell me all about it when you have time.

Dear Miss Witch,

Hogwarts is great so far and my lesons make more sense than I thought they would. I think my favorite one is Difense Against The Dark Arts, but Charms and Potions are decent as well, I suppose.

I also made some friends! Most notably, a Niven MacFusty and Gandalf Winterdown. Niven is in Gryffindor with me and he is teaching me how to be a wizard because there are so many things that I don't know about your world. For example, I had no idea what the balls of that Quidditch game were called! They are the quaffle, bludher and snitch and I think I'd like to play Quidditch but first I should learn how to fly on a broom. As for Gandalf, he's a Slytherin but a nice one and he's father is a ghost. They actually live in Irvingly like me and we're going to meet during the summer.

Oh! I'm so very glad to hear that everything is going well. Not that i was worried, I mean I was, just a little, but only because we're such good friends. I wanted you to do well.

It's nice to hear you've made some new wizarding friends. Enjoy flying lessons, perhaps you can teach me some day! I've always wanted to learn. That's lovely that one of your new friends lives here in town, I can't wait to meet him. Good luck this week in classes! And have fun!
