I don't know if Ellen will think to write to you, but I will! I miss you, how's things in Irvingly? I got sorted into Ravenclaw today, they say it's where the smart people go, do you think that's right for me? Ellen's in Slytherin and Eden is Gryffindor. I bet you'd be in Gryffindor too if you were here. I wish you were here. It would be so much fun if we were all here.

Don't mind Grump, he's friendlier than he looks. I hope all is well, still miss you. Say hi to your mum and dad for me!

Hello! Nah, Ellen wouldn't write to me. I think she must've had to write to our mum and dad though, else they'd be mad, and I wouldn't want to be here for that. But Irvingly's the same as usual. Bit quieter, maybe. How's Hogwarts then?

Well, congratulations! You are quite clever, Ellen never could've got in there. But you're all apart, then? Are the other Ravenclaws nice?

My mum was in Gryffindor too, and she thinks I might've been one as well. Not that it matters now. So have you started classes yet? I bet they're boring, though. They've got to be.

I'm sure you're having too much fun to miss me much, but that's alright. I hope you're having fun. But don't say hi to Ellen from me!

Of course Ellen wouldn't think to write! But shhh, you're my favorite anyway. Hogwarts is really big, I keep getting lost and the potions room smells. It's down in the dungeon and it's really creepy down there. I don't think I'm going to be very good at potions if I don't even like going in the classroom! My other classes are pretty good though, a little boring this first week, it's a lot of rules and lectures.

There's ghosts too, like actual floating, talking ghosts. I don't like it. They make me nervous even of people keep telling me they can't hurt me. Dead people should stay dead. They give me the shivers and when the float through you it's so uncomfortable. Nope, I could do without those.

Don't worry I won't say anything to Ellen and yes Grump. Well really his name is Argh, but really look at his grumpy little face! It's so cute!

I'm sure you'll find your way around eventually! Even with the moving staircases and secret passageways and all. You'll get used to the dungeons, too. At least you aren't in Slytherin? I suppose Ellen will be living down in the dungeons, and not even just for potions, hah! Suits her.

Oh has a ghost floated through you already? Doesn't sound much fun. But still, it's not their fault they're dead! I haven't seen any ghosts in Irvingly. The asylum might have some, hmm. Maybe one day I'll go see.

Ghosts or not, I'm sure you like Hogwarts a lot really. I hope your lessons are going alright now they've started properly.
Also, I don't think grumpy faces are supposed to be cute. Argh is very grumpy though. Maybe a little bit sweet as well, for an owl. Just a little. Anyway.

Oh yes, I have no idea how Ellen lives down in those dungeons, they're so dark and dank. No thank you! I'm getting better at getting around. I can find the Great Hall and the Ravenclaw common room without getting lost. Thankfully my roommates have class with me, so we can mostly figure it out together.

I still don't like the ghosts. I wonder if I'll ever get used to them? One floated through me in the common room one day, it was cold and it made me get goosebumps! Oh we should investigate the asylum when I come home for Christmas, that's a good adventure for us to have!

Argh says he likes you too!
