‘MRS ALICE PARKINSON’ DISCOVERED AS A FRAUD ![]() |
![]() R ecently Witch Weekly caused a mild outrage when someone claiming to be the as yet unheard of wife of Mr Orpheus Parkinson wrote to the magazine, something that only increased when Mr Parkinson resolutely denied any link to the woman and to the child. Some may have suspected he was attempting to cover up some sordid affair, but our investigative journalists have uncovered that this is most certainly not the case. Exclusively in the Daily Prophet, we can declare that Mrs Alice Parkinson, is in fact, a Miss Alice Parkinson, the muggleborn daughter of a British army officer stationed in India. The twenty-one year old was last seen by her family three weeks before her arrival in Britain, when she left with her son who they had been passing off as a family ward. _____________________________________________________________ |
Her son is indeed a bastard, however her father, Colonel William Parkinson (of no relation to the magical family by the same name) informed us the child’s father is in fact a disgraced officer formerly of the same regiment, and that he had no clue of Mr Orpheus Parkinson’s existence or his daughter’s claim until we broke them to him. When we attempted to contact Miss Parkinson at her friend’s home, the friend and her hostess informed us she had fled two days previously, leaving behind a wig she had fitted to her son in order to give him Mr Parkinson’s famous curls. She is currently wanted on suspicion of fraud, having sent several letters to Mr Parkinson and his solicitors demanding money for her son. Anyone who has seen Miss Alice Parkinson is urged to get in contact with the relavant authorities as soon as possible. AUTHOR: FELIX PREWETT |
