For my birthday, Aodh gave me a nice burn right above my elbow. My present this year, I think, is getting to keep my arm. How thoughtful of him.

I shouldn't actually complain, all things considered, but fuck it hurt.

People are insane. There's a story in the Prophet today about a dueling tournament where the prize was a wife. Several people are dead--including the lady in question, apparently--and this is why I don't wish to ever get married. Clearly it isn't for sensible people.

Speaking of insane people, Merlin save me from whatever is causing everyone around me to procreate. Soon we'll be buried in infants. It's only a matter of time.

May this year be better than last. And may it not require us all to hide in a hole somewhere to achieve it first.

this is as deep as Ian gets

Dragons are ornery as hell and probably worse, if possible, when it's cold. But I'm still glad I'm not a fisherman. If you're going run into the worst possible luck with a creature, at least a dragon makes for a better story than a shrake.

    I'd like to reiterate: Shit.

Though maybe she's lying. Or mistaken.

I suppose if nothing else, now I will think twice before going out. Though I apparently have no memory of doing so anyway, so who the hell knows if that would be effective or not.

    I'm a father.

I've never considered myself a religious man, but nothing has ever made me think about becoming one like this has before. Shit.
