Appearance: Standing at a modest five feet, one inches tall, Moriko is a rather willowy individual, with just barely enough curve to appear womanly. With a glowing smile never a far cry from her features, deep brown hair that, when unbound, falls to the top of her hips in thick waves, and jovial brown eyes, it's no wonder her favorite hobby is singing, with calligraphy being a close second. A stranger to the corset, Moriko is always seen wearing traditional Japanese dress, with her hair bound up in intricate designs with minimal accessories and typically with her wand tucked into a specially sewn pocket of her left sleeve, for easy retrieval with her dominant right hand.
History:

1868: Kept in seclusion by the Mountbatton men, Natsuko Mountbatton is born to Megumi and General Mountbatton, and quickly whisked away to England by her biological father to be raised by his spinster sister. Megumi is given a small sum of money for her ‘inconvenience’ some of which she uses to relocate to Edo, and the rest is hidden away for a ‘rainy day.’

1869: Megumi and Hiroto meet February, the former of the pair being little more than a shop-girl and the latter a farmer, and are married quickly. Hiroto was never told that his wife had had a child with an English man before they met.

1870: Moriko is born, healthy and strong, in January.

1874: The first sign of Moriko's magic manifests in the middle of December. Left to her own devices one evening, she makes her own shadow-play on the wall without touching the figures.

1879: Mid-June, Hiroto becomes stricken with an illness that claims his life before only four months later, leaving Megumi to be just scraping by after school expenses.

1881: Moriko begins schooling at Mahoutokoro, unknowingly attending with her own sister, the rainy day funds of her mother are used to help in supporting her education until she leaves school at the end of her 5th year.

1887: Following her mother's death in February, Moriko found herself with little more than just enough money to travel to England and the name of a sister she'd never known existed. She has only within the past month made the journey, given that she needed to complete the year of schooling, with only a single, non-magical trunk containing her clothes and other necessary accessories to her daily life.
