Christmas was Sisse’s favorite time of year. She loved the songs, the snow, the cheer on people’s faces and the fact that when one went walking they normally heard cheerful voices instead of the murmurings of discord. Not to mention the presents and sharing that everyone took part in. She knew all the songs and stories, and it was the one time of year that she didn’t mind sitting still in the hard pew during sermons - at least back home.
This year there was a whole new aspect to Christmas for Sisse, a bittersweet aspect. She finally got to see Mother and Father and Henry! But it also meant that she wouldn’t be able to see her friends every day during the break. The very thought made her frown. She had made quite a lot of friends at school and while she wasn’t entirely sure she would miss her classes during Christmas break, in fact she was rather sure she would not, she would miss her friends. She had made each of her dormmates Christmas cards, and had even made one for Calla and Zadie. Now wanting to have anyone feel left out she didn’t want to hand the girls theirs during their classes and so she had ventured downstairs toward the potion rooms where Matthew had said she would find the Slytherin common room. So far she wasn’t convinced that her older brother was right, half way down the dim corridor Sisse had seen no one.
Rounding a corner, Sisse had determined if she didn’t run into anyone she’d simply try again tomorrow. After all they did have a few days until they returned home. And then right in front of here was someone standing with a large crate balanced in front of them. They didn’t look very large, but then again the crate blocked their face. “
Do you need help?” Sisse asked with genuine concern, trying to peek around the crate to see who it was.
