Flopping down amongst a table that had a few familiar faces, Averus Pendergast turned his back to the table after greeting his friends with a quiet hello and sat facing the crowd instead. Not quite dinner time, the hall was still open for general uses by the students and as per normal it was crowded enough to keep Averus attention moving. Biting into an apple, Averus wiped the juice from his lip and observed in quiet study the different groups. The Majority were divided up into houses but there were those - like the one he currently sat in - that had a mish mash of student from almost all the houses combined.

It was however, if he was being honest, the ladies that Averus mostly kept his attention to. From the fair faced Slytherins to the quiet, shy and oddly alluring Hufflepuff's that didn't have so much confidence in their beauty as the others. To be honest, he rather liked the Hufflepuff girls. They were smart, polite, kind and shy. He liked a bashful lady, modest as could be - there was just something pleasant about a girls cheeks when they pinked in a bashful blush.

Taking another bite of his apple, Averus let the minutes pass by as more of his table begin to filter out and the room too became a little less occupied. Still, busy enough that there was a constant buzz of conversation in the room that filled Averus ears. Somehow indifferent to what he was observing, Averus turned his eyes and did a slow double take back toward one particular girl. He had seen her before but right in that moment, for the life of him, her name was stuck on the tip of his tongue. Trying to puzzle over what house she was from, he considered the options and watched her sift through the crowds for a moment - not bothered at all over the fact he was softly starring at her in an obvious way.

When Isis is in good mood, she wears bold colors and lets her dark curls down which give her a courtesan look. But why she had to be strict with the etiquette? Isis was that type of girls who bring new trends, just because they dare wearing something in a different way. She had beauty, so why hiding it with beautiful dresses? Her mother was often saying that a woman who loves herself never wears dresses which are too beautiful, because a beautiful woman doesn't need accessories to be beautiful.

When Isis strut in the Great Hall, with her bold onyx coloured curls jumping on her back, someone could think that she was an veela. But veelas never had dark hair. Anyway, Isis was always breaking that harmony between exotic and beautiful. Dark haired were boring, but nobody could ever describe Isis boring.

She felt the pair of ice blue eyes on her. She moved her own ice blue eyes, and found them. Averus Pendergast. She knew him very well, they shared a couple of classes. But he was a Gryffindor and she was a Slytherin, so they rarely speaked. But she must admit it, Averus had that look, which could melt every girl's heart.

Isis tried all this years to avoid crushes on random guys. Boys were following her, because she never shown interest on anyone, so they hoped that she may look at them. But Isis was with the opinion that a treasure is valuable only when you don't have it.

She put that charming smile on her rosy lips and walked to the Gyrffindor table. There were some random books in her hands, which was giving her a perfect excuse to ask him something about schoolwork. Isis was always a consistent student, but she couldn't find any good reason to talk with the charmer of Gryffindor.

" Salut, Pendergast, would you mind giving me the Transfiguration homework?" Isis speaked with her precious french accent.

Averus couldn't help the sly, charming smirk that planted itself right on his face as he watched the little raven haired witch approach. Shocked that he'd forgotten who she was, Averus could almost taste her name now like a palpable presence on his tongue as he rolled the words 'Isis Howard' around on his tongue - without speaking them out loud - and studied her curiously as she neared. By reputation the female was a notorious Slytherin, one of the most popular right up there along Cosette Delacroix and Calliope Browne. What he didn't know was why all of a sudden she seemed interested in him, not that Averus would complain about any pretty girl batting lashes his way but this just wasn't some girl.

Her smile only made Averus wonder what she was up to, that sweet a sugar grin too good to be true considering it was coming from a Slytherin meant she had to be up to something, didn't it? "Mrs.Howard." Averus replied without so much as a hitch, like he'd always known from the moment he'd landed eyes on her figure what her name was and who she was. "...Missing class again, are we?" Averus turned his head to the side, feigned that he was paying attention to something else before sliding his attention back onto the beauty before him. "...I'd ask you why you didn't ask one of your housemates but seeing as you're a Slytherin I doubt any of them attended class either." He teased, tossing in a wink her way as he pushed up from his seat and hefted his bag from the floor.

Dropping it on top of the table, Averus turned his back to Isis as he shuffled through his notes and pulled out a parchment with today's assigned homework. Of course, he hadn't finished it yet considering class had only just gotten out but what had she expected? The answers, too? "It'll cost you of course." The young Gryffindor boy said slyly, holding out the paper toward Isis with a dark, playful gleam in his stare as he continued to pull it just outside of Isis' grasp, waiting for her to agree that she would owe him a favor.

" Averus, you know that I never liked Transfiguration", Isis replied moving playfully her lips. " And it was such a lovely day, don't you agree?" Missing a class wasn't something rare. She was sure that many teachers had forgotten her face. Isis was studying only things she was interested to.

When Averus asked her why she didn't asked one of the Slytherins she felt quit uncomfortable. She glanced at the Slytherin table, and her lips formed a nervous smile. " I don't think that either of them will want to help me", she replied and then her nervous smile became playful again." You, Gryffindors, are always so helpful..."

Being a Slytherin herself, Isis always hated to be asked for favours. She rarely helped anyone, probably only her cousin, or close friends. But she wasn't heartless, like the most of the Slytherins. Isis was one of those people who look at others pain but never help them, even if they could and they want to.

    It'll cost you of course...

Gryffindors... She should expect it. Gryffindors were maybe the most playful males, of all. Slytherins are just spoiled, cold and snobbish. Ravenclaws are ok, nothing too interesting. Most of them were quite nerdy, others are clever like foxes. Hufflepuff's were too kind and loyal for Isis. She was too mean sometimes, so she couldn't be a friend with any of them.

" I can pay, Averus", she replied playfully. Money were not a problem, she had enough to buy anything. But she was sure that the Gryffindor didn't wanted money.

Oh, she was cute wasn't she? Standing there are posed and pretty, to be honest she kinda reminded him of those porcelain dolls. The ones with the soft moonlit skin, big lashy eyes and long pretty hair - not that Averus played with dolls! He just had sisters, so there for had seen them! Pushing away his thoughts, Averus didn't hide the fact that he was quite content in the pretty witches company. Giving her a lopsided, boyish grin that almost always promised he was up to no good - he shook his head no, from side to side.

"I don't want your money, Mrs.Howard." Averus toyed, keeping the paper still from her grip despite how he could all but feel the weight of eyes from a plethora of tables from all the different houses. It shouldn't have surprised them really. Averus was one of the rare few who mostly got along with everyone. Even some of the Slytherins - mind you not all because some of them really just were pompous jerks. "I want a favor." He repeated his initial condition and let his shrink in size but rise up in the heat of it's prowess. "...You'll owe me one, down the road. One favor, within reasonable boundaries of course." After all, she was a lady and he was a very 'vigorous' young boy on the cusp of becoming a man. The favors he could have asked her were hardly appropriate. "That I can call upon in my time of need."

Of course he didn't need her money. Averus was already rich, why he would want money? Personally, Isis never asked for money. Her cousin gave here some incrredible pieces of fashion, just to make Isis help her. Her mother was sending her clothes from Paris every month, just to make her daughter forgive her. When her mother visited France, Isis was sure that she was never going to return. Isis was feeling that chilly feeling of loneliness everytime she read her mother's letters.

" I will do whatever you want, whenever you want", she assured him. " I promise". Isis was feeling hundred pairs of eyes on her back. Slytherins and Gryffindors never get along. So probably a Slytherin female asking a Gryffindor for the transfiguration homework was such an interesting scene. Isis was more than sure that probably most of the Slytherins females were gossiping. About her. She was used to it, gossip was the only thing to entertain their foolish lives.

Isis dared to stretch her hand, to pick up the small piece of paper. Anyway she didn't tried to take it from Averus' hand. She opened her lily colored palm and gave Averus a precious smile." May I take it now?"Deep inside she hoped that he was going to reject, or just find another reason not to give it. She liked to be in Averus' company.

Far from oblivious about the plethora of eyes watching them, Averus remained as cool and calm as ever. Hardly bothered in the slightest by being put on the spot, he actually tended to thrive under pressure or beneath the spotlight. That was partially why he loved being Keeper for the Gryffindor Quidditch team. There was no feeling as good as making a block when your team is up by one and it's the last chance for the other team to score. It was seriously the kind of moment Averus lived for.

Offering her a flirtatiously mischievious grin, Averus couldn't help himself when he pushed from the table behind him and closed in the space between them. The smile planted on his lips shrinking in size but curving up in playfulness as he gave her a wolfish smirk. "You may regret this you know. I might just ask you to tutor a first year Hufflepuff and then what would you do?" He teased, momentarily withholding the paper from her before finally surrendering it into her possession.

    Isis Howard

Isis' porcelain fingers holded the small piece of paper. No that she was going to do her homework at all. But she had to, because Averus may think that she is a fool for asking him the homework and then doesn't do it.

" I will do it, if it pleases you", she answered the Gryffindor and then turned, facing all the Great Room. She moved her head to the Hufflepuff's table, looking all the students one by one. Then she turned again, now facing Averus." Just show me who".

She could do everything if it pleases him. That was the truth. And even if she didn't understood that she was ready to tutor the whole Hufflepuff house just to please Averus. Probably she was going to hate tutoring a child, but it wasn't going to last forever, right? Averus wasn't going to torment her forever. Or he was? You don't know what to expect from a Gryffindor...

" I can even tutor you, if you want, Averus" She suggested him. Her tutoring him seemed ridiculous and enjoyable the same time." Do you have a subject you are not good at? I can help you if you want", she added with a smirk. Then she fell into a melodic laugher. Everyone was saying that her laugh was just incredible, so cheerful and full of life that could make anyone laugh, even the most unhappy." Oh, what I am saying. You don't need a tutor. I need one!". She closed her eyes and when she opened them again her lips had formed a small smile full of joy. It was one of that times which Isis looked so innocent...

Quirking a brow with unabashed surprise, the fact Isis was so willing tutor a Hufflepuff - the famous, kind hearted students that it seemed most Slytherin's vowed to hate most - was more than just a bit shocking. Most of the Slytherin girls were snotty and conceded, never mind that the fact still didn't stop Averus from befriending some of them - they entire lot was gorgeous after all...so who could really blame him?

Running his eyes coolly over Isis' angel sweet features, Averus couldn't stop the amused grin from tipping up one corner of his lip into a slanted, charming smirk. He did have a fondness for dark haired beauties, more mysterious and alluring than their bubbly blond or sassy red counterparts but if he was telling the truth - Averus just liked girls in general. "...I'm far from perfect Mrs.Howard. I have my weaker subjects, to my father's dismay." Shrugging it off like it didn't bother him, Averus just grinned. "So, do you go to the Quidditch games at all?"

    Isis Howard

Quidditch? Isis was never a fan of sports and most of the times she found them boring, so she rarely went to the games of the school. She went only when strong teams played, like Slytherin with Gryffindor. The girl was proud that she could at least ride a broomstick, even if she rarely did it, even if her uncle have gifted her a whole collection of broomsticks. Isis prefered horses, they suited more for a lady, and she loved the sound of their hooves when they walked or run.

" I only go when good players play", Isis answered playfully smiling at him. She knew that Averus was in the team, she watched a game in which he played and he was a good player. A really good player..." But I will go the upcoming game, Gryffindor plays with Slytherin, right?", Isis asked him. Of course they played, the whole castle was talking about this games. Both Gryffindor and Slytherin had excellent players.
