In CharacterFull Name: Delilah Simpson nÚe AesalonNicknames: Lil, LilahBirthdate: December, 6th, 1841Current Age: 41Occupation: MidwifeHogwarts House: former HufflepuffWand: Elder, 9", supple, unicorn hairBlood Status: PurebloodSocial Class: lowerFamily:Victor Aesalon: older brother. Deceased. [1832-1879]Bernard Simpson: ex-husband who fabricated a story of her infidelity so he could divorce her and marry a younger woman. Ruining her and robbing her of her children. Bernard Jr: her oldest son. She loves him to the moon and back and he could care less about her. Kathleen - daughterGareth - son Joseph - sonGemma - daughter - the only one she has contact with nowAppearance: She is simple and plain in the way that she dresses. Blending in for the most part with her drab robes and simple worn cloak she doesn't have much due to her measly income. Something that was not always so having been cared for rather well in the middle class for the majority of her life. But now she has only old robes that upon closer inspection are worn out, fading and fraying with stitched up holes and patches. She has dark brunette locks of hair that curl and wave lightly passed her shoulders. She is of a modest height, standing five foot three and one hundred fifteen pounds with little to fill her out which makes her more lost in the old robes that don't fit her right. Due to her low income her food rations are some times more sparse and she has to stretch what she has. She is right handed, the same hand used for her wand. Something that can be noticed when looking upon her face is her expressive, kind blue eyes that usually have compassion and patience in them. Her brows are thin and arch elegantly. With plump lips with small curves, and the rounded cheek bones of her face give her a softer look. She is pretty even if she is an 'older' woman with flattering curves to her body, if a bit boney now having lost all the weight gained during her years of child bearing. History: Delilah was not always a lower class lady whom many saw as lowly and worthless. Though the woman is full of much self worth. Rather born into a respectable middle class family. She was the second born child - a very unexpected and surprising child. Seeing as her older brother was about nine years old when she was born, after all those years of trying for another child they had given up hope after so many fruitless years. The precious little girl that her father and mother held so much hope in their hearts for. She was a sweet thing who smiled at everyone, and was ever well behaved. Of course her parents had high hopes for their daughter though she wasn't as exotic and flashy other girls. She had a tender fresh beauty about her. From a young age the girl showed intelligence and watchfulness. She was social, yes. But she proved to be a very observant child, and one who knew a lot of times when to be quiet and listen to the wisdom of her elders. Of course she had her moments. As any child does. Where she would be rebellious and even rude. But it was such an uncommon occurrence, and one quickly caught and corrected. She was to be a proper lady that would make a good wife. As was no surprise Delilah got her letter to Hogwarts. And with her large, warm heart it was not a surprise that she was sorted into Hufflepuff. She was generally mild mannered and respectful. Known for her fierce loyalty. One thing that seemed to get her goad was bullies. She never felt comfortable with just sitting back quiet when someone weaker was being made fun of or pushed around by those stronger then them. That was when the lioness seemed to show herself in the little petite girl. When she was seeing injustice she would speak up, most times forgetting herself and not watching how she spoke. It was generally an amusing sight back then, as she was short and a wisp of a girl and she would have boys taller than her looking at her in shock. Loyalty was always important to her. And her honor. She would have a chaperone with her of course. Her parents wanted to help guard her purity and virtue. Delilah saw the act of sex as something sacred - something only for her husband to be. So she of course saved herself for the one. During her years at Hogwarts like any normal girl she had her little infatuations, her crushes and her mild flirting. But it had never come to anything more then that. She did nothing to dishonor herself or her parents. And it was in the face of her final year at Hogwarts that she met her future husband. She had been ill. Requiring the help of a healer over the duration of a week and a half this man became very taken by her as she had grown into a very pleasing and pretty young woman. This was Bernard. Though he was much older then her she fell deeply and madly in love with him as he wrote her letters. And not long after he started boldly writing to her, she started to write back. This young woman full of hope and love was more than thrilled at Bernard asking her father for her hand. She had been overjoyed and so deeply in love. In these tender years she never would have believed the betrayal that would come later. If someone told her what would happen she would think the person obsured and a lair. In November of 1859 Bernard and Delilah were married. And nine months later she got her first taste of the purest joy of becoming a mother to Bernard Junior. This marked them becoming a real family. Complete with a heir. She was so delighted and thankful that she could provide her husband a son. Nothing filled her with the purest joy she felt as when she was able to bring life into the world. Though of course each birth was painful, the satisfaction of holding an infant, a little life, it was always worth it. After Bernard Jr. she bore Kathleen, Gareth, Joseph, and Gemma for her husband. Though his affections seemed to wane with each child born, Delilah ignored it not wanting perhaps, to think of what might cause it. She had gained weight due to all of her pregnancies. But she was happy. Content to be a mother. She loved and adored her children. They were her life. Always a reason to live. How could she ever be sad with such precious jems gifted to her? Her husbands goal to eliminate her as his wife was never guessed. She remained a faithful loving wife, and a caring, diligent mother to her young ones. She was blind sided when her world was turned upside down at the accusation and supposed proof of her infidelity. She had pleaded her innocents and was heart broken when all of those she knew cast her out. Life as she knew it was over. And her family was ripped from her leaving her heart open and bleeding. She was so used to being the house wife. Caring for her little ones. Her precious ones. She had not known what to do at first. She felt lost. Abandoned and for the first time in her life she truly felt hopeless. Broken and worthless. She now had no family. As far as everyone was concerned she had no family now. She had turned her back and betrayed them all in the harshest way. At least that was how most people saw it. She had heard gossip. The pity and the comments of feeling bad for Bernard. And only venom about her. It was a wound her heart could not fully recover from. Though she managed to pull herself together and start working as a midwife - there was a tender part of her that died then. And every time she helped bring another child into the world for another woman that wound was reopened. Not that she let it show. Delilah forged her way through the hard times. The money situation never really got to much better. But she got herself settled into her humbling new life. Time went on, new scandals came and went, and though her world had ended the rest of the world kept spinning. She was strong. Able with the faintest of hopes that she might find the love of her children some how some day to find reason to live. She did not let her wounded heart make her bitter and hard. She strove to stay compassionate and kind. Strove to help people. Her strength and faith was rewarded when her youngest daughter found and started to contact her. It was the happiest moment since that fateful day that she had been ruined and humiliated - cast out like garbage. She has no respect from everyone else of her family. Though her warm heart and kindness has won her favor in some peoples eyes in the slums. Though a woman on her own, Delilah has been strong, refusing to sell her body to help her bring in more food for herself. She is strong. And she is a survivor. Personality: Delilah is a woman of compassion, loyalty, and strength. She was the warm one, social, bright, and concerned about the happiness of others. Delilah has long put the care and needs of others before herself. This quality of her was most firmly established during her years of motherhood having to care for the children she bore. The woman has always been strong, positive and searching her best to find the gem and beauty in the darkest of days. Though her husbands betrayal was something that had seemed to deep a darkness to find any good in she does her best not to dwell on the hurtful past and pours her heart into her work as a midwife. What hurt the most of being dishonored was how in everyone's eyes after it her loyalty became worthless. She was considered traitorous because of her claimed infidelity. Where she struggles with the feelings of dishonor, shame, hopelessness and worthlessness she is the sort of lady who fights back her demons and does her best to hold her head up high and still look people in the face. Not letting the false reputation hold her down. She helps as a mid wife and refuses to sell her body no matter if it would see her much better fed. She rather keep what dignity she has left. One thing people cannot take from her is her self worth and that is why she fights so hard to keep it. Another thing is that though she strives to be trustworthy her heart is deeply wounded still. And it has caused her over time to give up the idea of having a family again. She is ruined because of what her husband did. Even if she wanted a family she is most likely to old for more children, and who would want the cast of adultress that she was made out to be? It has made her fear love and fear putting her heart out there in that aspect. Sample Roleplay Post: lol a post with siblings I played on my site Ugh. He was two thousand three hundred and sixty some odd years old, why the hell was he waisting his time at a night club? Why the hell had he allowed Spara to yet again drag him along. He had even put on his grumpy face the whole drive in. Even let Spara drive so he could really show her how much he wasnt happy with going - cause he had his arms folded across his chest like he was pissed. Yes. He was satisfied and sure she got the point. But the most infuriating thing was that she was still talking all bubbly and happy and exited. She was the same bloody age as him. If only she wasnt so.... So... Ugh. LIVELY and goddamn social. Why did he have to pay the price for that? The car was nice, brand new, sparkly and with all the add ons that they could get. Funny thing about dragons - they seemed to like sparkly things. They wanted them. Sometimes they even ate things like gold and diamonds. So its probably a good thing vampires didn't sparkle. Cause those sons of a bitches would be gone baby gone. Roanikus and Spara were older dragons. And well. Both had houses full of hoarding of trinkets and jewels. And vaults dug deep under the earth of their houses with heaps of treasure. One point Roanikus had even had a collection of 'fair maidens'... Perhaps even ate one or two... He wont disclose that information. They arrived and the keys were tossed at the man greeting them "One scratch on her and I will feed you your entrails" Roan growled as he walked passed - Spara rolling her eyes before grabbing her brother and pulling him reluctantly behind her. Cutting the line up and smiling for the bouncer as he greeted her. The club was nice, and Riva frequented it enough that she was let through with her brother in tow."We're here to have fun. Stop glowering like your going to burn the place down grumpy scales" Spara said as she punched his shoulder. Earning a glare as they walked to the bar. He lifted his head defiantly and snorted "I am not going to have fun. You just wanted to make my night hell so you..." his voice trailed off as a few very attractive women walked by. His mind went to ooooOoo! Pretty things! Mostly one with a shiny silver dress. Spara took that as her escape from her brother and disappeared into the crowed as he was distracted. He took after the women a minute before he managed to keep talking. Though it was a long pause "You're stuck with me" he turned and realized she was gone. "Fuck" he said before he walked the rest of the way to the bar and sat down before glaring at the table top as if it had done something to offend him. "Tequila. Just give me a whole goddamn bottle" he pulled out money and chucked it at the man working at the bar. He went to argue but chose to not as he felt the full heat of the dragons glare. He got a nice unopened bottle and handed it to Roan. He opened it and took a drink from the bottle. If he was going to be here. He was going to get drunk.Out of CharacterName: Aly, Alygator :)Age: 22Contact: CanadianAlygator@gmail.com and CanadianAlygator as AIMOther Characters: none at the momentHow did you hear about us?: someone advertised on my searching thread on caution
