Demetrio Villalobos vs. Ephraim Van Rossum
    #1
Two gentleman duelers! Oh my, it was probably going to get disturbing rough. She hoped she didn't make any mistakes.
She read out the oh so important rules, she was no sure they were almost committed to memory.

"Mr. Villalobos, you may go first."

Demetrio bowed respectfully to his opponent and - quite cheerfully - cast Confringo. He wasn't crazy. the spell was aimed so that it would hopefully hit the ground at Mister Van Rossums feet and give him a bit of a fright.

Combative spells hadn't always been Ephraim's strongest area, but he did know a thing or two about defense. To be a healer, he had to successfully complete his Defence Against the Dark Arts class—he'd proved to everyone that he wasn't dumb or incompetent. Watching the floor beneath him tremble—or maybe that was all mental—Ephraim quickly cast a shield charm around him, hoping it would block out his opponent's explosion.

Both spells were effective but sadly Mr. Villalobos' spell never hit it's mark.

"Mr. Van Rossum wins the first round and may start the next."

    [Scores: Demetrio 6, Ephram 7]

Ephraim was so proud of himself—he actually was accurate with his charm (though he had no doubt in his mind that he could actually cast a shield charm) and blocked his opponent's attack. Raising his wand once more, Ephraim cast the spell Anteoculatia, hoping to make horns grow atop Mister Villalobos' head.

Demetrio hummed before casting a spell that would hopefully have his opponent turn into a fluffy, yellow canary.

Mr. Villalobos sprouted a single, little antler like one you'd find on a very young deer - the type old enough to have horns but like not full grown ones. As for Mr. Van Rossum, he didn't fare quite so well and was successfully turned into a bird. Dyllis was relieved she could reverse the effects of both spells before announcing the result.

"Mr. Villalobos wins this round and may begin the deciding round."

    [Scores: Ephraim 6, Demetrio 9]

Set to rights, Demetrio cast a spell that would hopefully turn Mr. Van Rossums wand to stone and make it useless for this round.

Using whatever skills in Charms he had left over, Ephraim quickly responded, casting a spell that would hopefully turn his opponent's spell into something decorative—something impressive. He hoped to blast the charm in return, causing whatever stone hex he was about to get hit with into ice shards to fly in the direction opposite of him.

Dyllis watched intently as the stone transfiguration thwarted the retaliation from Van Rossum whose whole hand seemed to have been turned to stone along with his wand. How far it went up his arm she couldn't know. He probably ought to see a healer about it, she wasn't sure how to undo it.

    "Mr. Villalobos wins the duel!"

    [Scores: Demetrio 10, Ephraim 4] + 6 for injury
