    An Atmospheric Charm Gone Wrong

    The results are deadly

It seems to be that time of year again, when people who really have no business doing so attempt to make their homes more festive with the aid of atmospheric charms.

Mrs. Agnes Bootle of Wellingtonshire reportedly wished to decorate her drawing room for guests Monday, and attempted to create a wintery scene with magic. According to the Bootles' housekeeper, Mrs. Judith Couch, Mrs. Bootle's "gentle snowflakes" turned into an ice storm, which reportedly froze over all of the room's exits, trapping the occupants inside.

Unfortunately, help was unable to arrive in time, and when the door to the drawing room was finally opened, Mrs. Bootle, her husband, Mr. Edgar Bootle, two maids and a footmen who had been attempting to assist in the decorating had all been frozen solid, effectively killing all.

The Bootles leave behind four young children, various other family members, and a reminder to all to really not try this sort of thing at home.
