Darling Ginny, 

Since you left for Mrs Pendergast's the rain has not ceased in Wales, nor has the gloominess of the house without all of you around. Your papa is deep in his research - apparently he is very close to a breakthrough but I suspect he merely wishes me to stop sitting on his desk while he tries to read - and is absolutely no company at all!

I have enclosed a photograph of a dress in *French version of WW* that I thought you might like. It is demi-mode is it not? Sibylle assures me short sleeves are all the rage in Paris at the moment but I doubt your Mrs Pendergast will take to them before the next century! Is all well there my darling? I do so hate to think of you in a dreary muggle town but it cannot be much worse than my view at the moment! Perhaps it will improve with the spring? Your papa has promised me that every year and it is yet to, but I live in hope!
