Mrs. L. Cavanaugh,
I appreciate your discretion in the way you chose to discuss Mrs. Black's illness with Hannah. Since you are, doubtless, not as well acquainted with the Black family as we are, I write to encourage you to keep what you now know of Mrs. Black's delicate constitution from the ears of those unaffected, as if were, by her situation. It would cause her a great deal of stress were she to suspect that anyone was worrying over her, particularly her husband; as he is gone for such a large portion of the year she has gone to great lengths to be an ideal companion for him when he is home. It does no good to worry him with these occasional episodes and in fact would do her constitution a good deal of harm if she were to think he was distracted by her health.
My own darling wife was very much affected by the implications of the insidious Witch Weekly article which featured us several months ago. I am sure you are aware of it. It would pain me very greatly if she was made to undergo any more stress for imagined sleights and disproportionate qualms. We had a conversation about Mrs. Black's episode at the Quidditch match and am happy to say she was not in the least perturbed by it, but it would doubtless upset her very much if anyone else were to hear about the situation, and think it was something it wasn't. I am sure you can sympathize with the desire to keep any malicious rumors from spreading, particularly as they relate to Hannah, since she has been so grievously affected by such things in the past.
