    DATE: January 7th, 1883

    TAG: Verty

    OUTFIT

    WORDS: 361

    NOTES:

"I was unaware of how closely you paid attention... Nor how unsettling the span of your memory is," she remarked dryly, keeping the edge of her smirk as hidden as she could. It was strange the feelings she felt around Verty. They had always been there but never had they been so vivid nor had she been quite so at peace with them. That wasn't to say that she had fully accepted what they were becoming but she was starting to come round to the idea at the very least. It wasn't so bad, was it? Really? Perhaps it was though, perhaps it was but she was starting not to care anymore.

She couldn't understand the function of such an arrangement as two women together when it was certainly not going to end in marriage, it wasn't for the process of reproduction... so what was it? Purely pleasure? Did she really want involvement in such a thing? Now? After all her years of solitude which had seemed to suit her perfectly fine? She obviously would have to make a decision very quickly before she did anything too... permanent. Did she want to start some sort of intimate involvement with Verty or was she going to back out and retreat back to her solitude and new found work? "What happens from here?" she asked, her voice quieter and lower in contrast to the harsher tone she preferred to take with people. She couldn't let Verty go, she couldn't. It was as though she had tasted blood and the idea of going back to lettuce was unappealing. Perhaps there was something inside of her that wasn't so fond of solitude as she had always thought.

"I mean, when... When do we... See each other? And uh... What happens then?" She was likely red in the face with embarrassment as she struggled to speak without faltering from embarrassment. It was so strange to feel embarrassed when embarrassment was not something she usually found herself feeling. Not outside of the company of Verty, anyhow. "Tea?" Moira winced slightly at how impersonal it sounded while at the same time not daring to suggest anything more personal.

    January Challenge Day 5

Verty figured she'd never be unamused by Moira's reaction to the little nuances of what would become the norm in their relationship. She'd never get used to the sight of their hands entwined, or the way the simple touch seemed to make Moira nervous. There were things that Verty knew even she would have to get accustomed to. The taste of Moira's lips on her own was one that she figured she'd have no trouble with at all - it was such a lovely taste after all and it was something that Verty had always dreamed of. Being close enough to smell her was another thing. Her soap and whatever else she may use was much stronger when she was allowed to be close to her and it was an intoxicating bouquet indeed.

All of these things were what both of them had to adjust to. But Verty knew what would be the most odd to get used to: hearing Moira's voice with that small, hardly discernible amount of affection in it. She had noticed the shift, subtle though it may be, in the way she spoke to her now that she was admitting her feelings. Her voice was still lovely to be sure but now it held with it a tinge of affection that she hadn't allowed Verty to know before. It all seemed so strange to her - but not in a bad way. She knew she'd have to get used to it all but she was sure it wouldn't take terribly long on her end. This was, after all, something she'd dreamed of for a long time.

"We just continue on seeing one another whenever we can and whenever we desire." She looked at their hands. They fit so perfectly together, felt so perfectly suited to one another. "What we do is up to you. We needn't do anything more than drink tea and chat. If you want to hold my hand, hold my hand. If you want to allow me to kiss you, then allow me to kiss you. I don't ask for much but your love." She meant it completely. She would take only what Moira was willing to give and be happy with that. She had a feeling that Moira was fearing the more physical aspects to relationships, and though Verty did desire her, she would not press the issue.

Giving a soft sigh, she leaned upwards and placed a kiss on Moira's lips. "I can't stay much longer, sadly. Else I would. But I have things to attend to...but you know how to reach me. I'll write soon as I'm able." She smiled, trying to put off letting go of her hand for as long as she could. "I love you, Moira." She smiled. Letting go of her hand without really wanting to, she walked to the door and took her exit. Moira needed some time alone and she did have some things to take care of.
