    POTTER ABDUCTED

    BRYCE ABSCONDS WITH “SISTER-IN-LAW”

I n yet another stroke of ill luck for the Potter family, Mrs. Odira Potter was abducted yesterday from Salem Square by none other than the escaped murderer, Jasper Bryce.

No doubt fearing his inevitable arrest at the hands of Mr. Justin Ross, head of the Law Enforcement Squad for the Ministry of Magic, Bryce reportedly held Mrs. Potter at wandpoint and disappeared. Spectators looked on in horror at the scene, with one young lady describing it as ‘something out of a nightmare.’

"I personally pledge that the Department will not rest until Mrs. Potter is rescued safely and Mr. Bryce is captured," says Mr. Ross.

This paper considers it worth noting that Bryce was convicted for burning several brunette ladies alive—a template that Mrs. Potter’s own appearance matches.

Mrs. Potter was born Miss Odira Browne to Mr. and Mrs. Augustus Browne, and has several siblings who are, undoubtedly, all anxiously awaiting her return. She married Mr. Bennet Potter last year, only for his brother to be subsequently murdered that same day.

That brother was the late Minister of Magic, Mr. Darcy Potter, who Bryce is said to look eerily akin to.

Neither the Potter nor Browne family was available for comment.

ATMOSPHERIC CHARM INCIDENT IN GODRIC'S HOLLOW

PLEASE DON'T TRY TO MAKE IT SNOW IN YOUR HOUSE

Members of the Accidental Magic Reversal Squad were recently called in when a resident of Godric's Hollow decided that it would be a good idea to try and generate a blizzard in his basement. The charm escaped into his yard, and though easily reversed, confused several local muggles so that obliviators also had to be brought to the seen.

"It's very inconvenient when people do things like this," commented Mr. Marius Favreau, one of the Obliviators in question.

The spell-caster - one Mr. Hieronymus Weatherby - will very possibly be fined by the Wizengamot for his waste of time and resources. The Ministry would like to remind everyone that atmospheric charms, while simple enough to cast, should not be used for petty reasons and certainly not in a way that makes it precipitate in your house.

This reporter would like to question why anyone wants a blizzard inside their house.
