Mother, I write to you because I'm not sure... about what I've been feeling lately. Could it be love? He makes me so frustrated, he knows how to push my buttons. And he makes me blush... every time I'm around him. We just met, Mother, I've seem him around school, when Peeves pulled that rude prank that could've killed someone... And when he ran into a second year's stack of books in the library. I'm sure I saw him more over the years... but I don't talk to people outside my year often.

I only got to know his name a few weeks ago and that's when these strange feelings started. I ignored them until I talked to him again - no, don't worry, nothing happened. The conversation took place in the courtyard - and now I can't ignore them.

Am I right, Mother? Am I ... falling in love with someone a year older than I?

My dear sweet petit pois, I'm not altogether sure I know what you're talking about. Have you stolen some of my laudanum? You know you mustn't take such things unless you are feeling ill because your father will be very very displeased with me if you fail your owls or newts because of it. I don't need your papa to be angry with me it makes me very uncomfortable.

If this boy is making you feel strange I would avoid him, that will make it better. J'ai me tu plus trop chameaux dans un roi. French is such a nice sounding language don't you think?
