Did you know? Churchgoers and worshippers had to endure a foul stench during prayers due to the amount of bodies often stored within the vaults of churches and chapels.
I know it's only been a few hours since we parted ways but the strangest thing has happened. I mentioned that I thought it odd my mother and sister hadn't written when E. had and resolved to pay my mother a visit before taking E up on his offer of a place to stay, but it seems she's moved. I walked in the front door of my old home and very much startled some Muggles living here. Wouldn't it be a fine thing to be arrested within hours of returning to England?
I suppose my mother must have moved since I've been away, which is unfortunate; I was hoping as you know that I could slip in to one of her spare rooms and send excuses on to E instead of staying with him, but now I have no choice. The address I gave you before is the correct one.
I feel as though I ought to sign this with 'give my regards to your parents' or something about your life but as I've never met your parents I suppose it would be odd to send them my regards. Anyway, I hope you don't meet any surprise Muggles.
My big return wasn't as exciting. Well. I don't know. My mother practically jumped at me. I was standing there like a tree log while she hugged me and cried and then I think I made her sad because I didn't hug her back right away. She then fussed on me and commented on how thin I got and stuff. And then she insisted on helping me run a bath and that's where the fun part comes. She saw my tattoos and she freaked out. She started crying, all hysteric and started muttering all those things about The Evil One and how I was away from God's path for so long. I think I'm supposed to go to church with her on Sunday. Don't suppose you want to come along?
Not a chance. Take notes and send them along if I miss anything exciting.
No one has seen mine yet (your mother helps you run a bath??) but I think the shock might actually kill E. I may keep it up my sleeve if I ever need him to have a sudden heart attack. Yours are worse, though; did you tell her the whole story behind them? If you did I understand her worry.
She didn't do that before. She thinks my absence has made me a child again, though. She calls me Paulie. She stopped calling me that when I went to Hogwarts.
I also totally didn't tell her that my tattoos are the date of the world's end. Then again, she also believes in a doomsday. That's why she thinks it's so important I return to the right Christian path before that.
I'd pay to see your brother's reaction to them. Please don't show them to him if I'm not around?
I don't particularly plan to show him ever (cannot think of any reason why E & I would be shirtless together as he is hardly the type to go bathing spontaneously in rivers & such) so think you are safe on that front.
