Imagine That!

Winter was, without a doubt, Elsie's least favorite time of year. The cold made her miserable; unless she was sitting directly beside a fire, she always felt as though she had a chill and her hands were like ice all the time. However, though it was her least favorite time of year, Els could also say that some of life's biggest moments had happened during the winter...

That was neither her nor there at the moment, as she was at work at therefore supposed to be taking care of shelving books and cleaning up the tables after people left. She had a her rickety cart before her, pushing along between the rows of large tables people used to do their research and reading, thought it was apparent that some people had absolutely no idea how to clean up after themselves. Though it was preferred that patrons of the library did not put their own books away, they could at least clean up the scores of crumpled up parchment they'd discarded during their stay!

With a sigh, Elsie bent to pick up the papers and found a leftover edition of Witch Weekly under the table as well. The magazine was open to an inside article and though she had just intended to pick it up to be thrown away, the article title caught her eye. The opinion piece on whether or not young ladies needed NEWT level educations was certainly of interest to Elsie, though she never had read a copy of Witch Weekly in her entire life. That was Adella's thing, and the only way Elsie had previously know of Tybalt's mention in it once before. Elsie quickly glanced around and didn't see anyone close enough to worry about, still she had hesitations, so she tucked it inside a large text on transfiguration before she started to skim the article. Elsie had her doubts, though the more she read, the more pleasantly surprised she became!

Library runs were reserved specifically for Grandfather, granddaughter time. It was the time that Nerissa could spend away from her Grandmother; Who, while impressed and proud with her grades through Hogwarts, would prefer the girl focus on things that would help her get ready for her future marriage. Her Grandfather understood the need to sit in silence and just read, why couldn't her Grandmother do the same?

Daydreaming during the carriage ride to the Library as usual, Nerissa didn't move until her Grandfather stuck his head back inside, startling her out of her thoughts. She moved out of the warmed compartment into the cold, shivering slightly at the change of temperature. Her eyes took in the lightly falling snow, a smile resting on her face as she was led inside.

While her Grandfather went off to his own devices - reading whatever he found interesting in some corner - Nerissa took a moment to glance around. She'd been coming to this library for as long as she could remember, starting with her parents. It was a place that felt more home than the one she currently resided, but she figured that had more to do with the memories of her parents than anything else; Or it could have been the fact that she was allowed to wear wizarding robes here, which she'd always felt more comfortable in.

With yet another potions book in hand, Nerissa found herself reading and walking at the same time. At nineteen, you would think Nerissa would have already figured out what a mistake this was, and yet... Suddenly she found herself bumping into another girl, a whispered profanity left her mouth, immediately followed by apologies as she bent down to help pick up the dropped books. "I apologize for bump- Witch Weekly?" Nerissa spoke aloud, furrowing her eyes at the magazine in confusion. "Is this yours?" She asked, positive that she hadn't bought the magazine with her.

As per usual, Elsie was lost in the reading, though it was a fairly quick article, she was about to slide the book back onto her cart, when she was startled enough to drop it altogether, the magazine falling out. Though she wasn't embarrassed per ce, it was kind of odd that she'd been hiding it... Well.

"Oh well, I was reading it, but it was left on the table here." She admitted with a  visible blush. For some reason she felt a little silly having been caught reading it from inside of her text. She was also working, so that probably didn't look good either.

"I don't usually, but it was open to an article about young ladies needing NEWTs," Maybe she was just digging herself a hole, but she also felt like explaining herself might help a little. "I was pleasantly surprised with the view the the article." Considering she had graduated with really good marks, with her NEWTs Elsie rather thought they were important, but somebody who didn't want to work probably didn't feel the same...
