    Freddie,

Please do not think me a meddler; you are certainly my favourite brother, and I should hate for my concern to drive a wedge between us. I appreciate that I am perhaps more involved in your life than I ought to be, and I will endeavour to fix this in myself, but for now I have taken a move that I think to be very much for the best, and I truly believe that it is in your best interests to accept it.

You know I have long been uncomfortable with your position in the Ministry; it is not quite suitable for one of your status, you might find yourself thwacked by a rogue bludgerùbut this latest incident, with the attack, was quite the last straw for me. I have written to our cousinùthe Ministerùon your behalf (do not fret; I ensured he was aware it was a favour for me and not for you), and he has been kind enough to find you a position in another office. The paperwork, he said, would not take long to go through, and the position comes with a higher salary than that you already have. It is a step above the work that Cousin Darcy did prior to his election, and so far above a place as a referee; I do hope you think it suits you.

Please do not begrudge me my concerns for your well-being,

    Felicity

    Dear Fee,

    November, 1882

I rather wish that you approved of my current occupation, though I suppose that it is just silly for me to think so. I must admit that it was not the best decision to work as a referee. I wanted an occupation associated with Quidditch and when I graduated becoming a referee seemed as the perfect solution. I suppose that the attack gave me a lesson.

What occupation are you talking about, sister?

    Sincerely,

    Frederick

    Freddie,

I am so pleased you are not angry with me! It was only belatedly that I suspected I might be acting out of place; I should have been quite worried if you had shared this belief and held it against me.

Our cousin intimates that the Improper Use of Magic Officeùa subset of the Department of Magical Law Enforcementùis quite understaffed, which means not only an opening for you, but one in which you are not at the bottom off the food chain merely by virtue of your age as you are in your current place. It isùI am lead to believeùnot a tedious job if one casts one's mind away from the paper work involved, as time will be spent out and about investigating various infractions. It will certainly make for better progression throughout the departmentùwhen you are olderùthan your current position would have allowed, and I think it must be far more stimulating intellectually (given your skills, this is no doubt beneficial!).

I thank you for your patience with me, and send you ever my love,

    Felicity
