Some info about the Whitledge family:

• They are halfbloods without near muggle relations in their paternal line. The mother's blood statuses vary.

• The women in the family, while expected to marry eventually, are permitted to have careers.

Appearance:

While Handsome couldn't be considered to the modern equivalent of "hot" with chiseled features and smoldering eyes, he has a soft, charming appearance and a sweet smile. He stands at five feet, seven inches tall, and weighs about average for his height and build.

He has chestnut brown hair, light brown eyes and a slightly crooked (yet totally cute) nose. Outside of school, he dresses in muggle clothing appropriate for his age and class. He is left-handed.

History:

Winter, 1869 — Hattie Whitledge births fraternal twins, whom she promptly names Handsome and Cupcake. While Louis tries to argue about the silly nature of the childrens' names, Hattie sees it as a personal insult against her name. Louis stops arguing.

1871 — A second daughter named Sweetie is brought into the family. Too young to understand what having another sibling means, Handsome all but ignores her presence.

1872 — Darling is born, bringing the total number of children to four. Handsome hopes that if his parents so require another child, they at least bring home a boy!

1873 — Cupcake shows her first sign of magic. Disappointed, Handsome sets out on a journey to discover his own, but only manages to get himself hurt in the process.

1874 — Honey is born, leaving Handsome disappointed.

1875 — Alas, a brother! Hattie names the poor child Knight in Shining Armour, but Handsome considers this a mouthful and just calls him Knight.

1877 — The Whitledge family settles in Hogsmeade after the muggle riots break out all over Britain. Though not pleased with the move, he eventually finds comfort in living with others of his kind.

1879 — Nearing his tenth birthday, Handsome still has yet to show a sign of magic. Desperate and worried, he attempts to force the magic out of him by putting himself in situations that might prompt it; however, his attempts prove unsuccessful.

1880 — Handsome finally shows signs of magic.

1881 — Handsome attends Hogwarts in the fall and is sorted into Gryffindor alongside his twin sister. He quickly finds that his favorite classes include practical application of magic; History of Magic, Magical Theory, and Astronomy prove less interesting.

1883 — Handsome adds Ancient Runes, Care of Magical Creatures, and Ghoul Studies to his course load. CoMC proves to be the most interesting of his three electives, while Ancient Runes becomes a living nightmare.

1884 — The laughing plague strikes Hogsmeade and leads to the demise of Handsome's father. It's determined that Handsome is to receive part of his inheritance upon graduation from Hogwarts, while the rest of it will wait until he turns twenty one or marries. The Whitledge family moves into an Irvingly home.

1885 — Handsome is named prefect.

1886 — Handsome's mother takes up a career as a healer and becomes practically absent from her childrens' lives. Handsome is forced to become the father figure — something he struggles with immensely — so his family doesn't fall apart.

1887 — After a falling out with Sweetie, Handsome's struggle to hold the family together becomes even harder. The cousins are tossed into the trouble, leaving Handsome to play damage control. In July, Handsome's mother dies, leaving him the head of household. Their grandmother generously agrees to take in the newly-orphaned children, though it doesn't stop Handsome for crumbling under his new responsibility.
