    LETTER TO THE EDITOR

    IN DEFENSE OF THE MINISTRY

    To the editor,

    I daresay that there is no way for the Minister of Magic to prevent a plague. Besides that - there is no feasible way for the DMLE to protect every witch in this country. I'm sorry, but there just isn't. I agree that the Azkaban escapees should never have escaped - though that reflects more on the asylum than anyone else - but there is no feasible way for the Ministry of Magic to protect everyone from everything at all times and still do their jobs. There just isn't.

    Let them do their jobs. If you're paranoid about your daughter's safety, maybe you should teach her defensive spells. If you object to that, then you should deal with the problem by watching her yourself, and let the Ministry deal with its own problems as they arise rather than spend your time whining that they can't protect you from feats of nature.
