Justin Adams vs. Castor Allaway

Pleased to have another all boy duel, Icarus read them the rules and then continued. "Mr. Adams may take his turn first."

Listening to the rules that were read with a slight grin, Justin waited until a clear indicator was given of who was to go first. Slightly surprised to find it being him, he bowed toward his opponent as was proper, then cast a Cheering Charm toward Castor.

• A Gryffindor through and through, Castor always enjoyed the dueling tournaments—he had even made it to the final round last time! With great determination, the fourth year steeled himself for the Slytherin’s attack, quickly throwing up a shield charm.

It was a close call. Both spells were good and appeared to be evenly matched though it was the cheering charm that wore off first and so Icarus decided based on that.

• The Gryffindor grinned at his success. What an excellent way to start things off! Hoping to continue his momentum, Castor cast a disarming spell at the Slytherin—even if he didn’t completely disarm him, he hoped to at least throw off the other lad’s aim.

He didn’t have long to wait for retaliation, and this time it was Justin’s turn to attempt a Shield Charm, which he did as soon as the Gryffindor cast his spell. He had no intention to be Disarmed this early in the game, after all. So far, so good, whether it worked or not remained to be seen.

Mr. Adams' shield charm was attempted just a fraction too late to stop the disarming charm which it it's mark and left Mr. Adams without a wand.
