Appearance:

Aurelia is average height for her age and gender. She has a kind face, with intelligent blue eyes and a bright smile. Her wand arm is usually her right arm, but Aurelia is ambidextrous, so she can use her wand in either hand. In addition, Aurelia has dark brown hair and pale delicate skin that burns in the sun easily, much to her dismay. What she wears usually depends on what the occasion is. As an upper class lady, Aurelia is required to wear clothes that are never hand me down, and her outfits constantly change. The only thing she keeps constant is a light blue ribbon that was her mothers, handed down to Aurelia. Depending in her outfit, Aurelia can weave it into her clothes or her hair. Aurelia loves flowers - roses mostly - and she always has a fresh batch of them in her room, so she always has a slight rose smell about her, which is quite lovely.

History:

When Aurelia was born, as a result of her mother being extremely ill, she was extremely weak, and couldn't walk until far beyond the age she was supposed to. Once she could though, Aurelia was practically bouncing off the walls with energy. It completely baffled her family and house elf how someone so small could have so much energy. Aurelia certainly kept her older brothers close to her heels when she was a toddler.

As Aurelia grew up, Ben insisted on her beginning to learn the necessary womanly arts that comes with being an upper class female. Aurelia's governess and Tilly both took turns to teach Aurelia French, knitting, painting writing and many other tasks a woman is expected to uphold. As she grew older, Aurelia became extremely accomplished at all of those tasks and became nearly fluent in French. But that wasn't what she wanted to be good at. What she wanted, ever since she was little was to be accomplished at magic. She loved watching her brothers practice magic, and had admired it ever since. When she got her Hogwarts letter, Aurelia was ecstatic, and dragged her brothers around to get supplies. Her first purchase was a beautifully pale barn owl which she named Primrose. Her next purchase was her wand, which she was most excited to get, although Aurelia maintained a physical appearance of nothing more than a proper young lady waiting her turn to receive her purchases.

When she attended Hogwarts, she was almost certain she would get into Hufflepuff, but the Sorting Hat, sensing her wisdom put her in Ravenclaw. Aurelia was practically bouncing off the walls with excitement. She'd gotten into her mothers and older brother's house! Papa was going to be so proud. And proud Ben was, when he'd heard about his daughter's admittance to Ravenclaw. He sent her a heartfelt letter, saying that Elsa would have been proud. Aurelia had been told countless stories about how good her mother was, and gentle to everyone she met. Eleven year old Aurelia aspired to be just like her mother. But the fates would have something else in store for the young lady. Even more ecstatic than James and Riff put together, Aurelia proved herself to be a bit of a handful during classes, asking way more questions than needed, and questioning the teachers responses - politely, albeit with determination. Many could tell that it was simply Aurelia's curiosity that provoked such debates, but Ben eventually had to send Aurelia a letter asking her to tone down her curiosity a bit, to which she scrunched her nose up, nevertheless obeying her father's orders.

During her later years at Hogwarts, Aurelia's curiosity never waned, but the intensity with which she asked questions died down considerably, and she learned to control her enthusiasm. Come graduation, Amelia had proven herself to be quite brilliant, and acquired O's in all her O.W.L.S, save for History of Magic, in which she got an E.

She proceeded to take NEWT classes in her 6th and 7th years which were quite exhausting, but nonetheless, Aurelia succeeded in attaining all O's and E's in her NEWTs, which her family was extremely proud of. Following her graduation and coming out, Aurelia secretly started studying Animagi, and how to become one -- she has never attempted to make the transformation though, but she's contemplating it.

In 1884, Aurelia and her friend were on High Street when they were encountered by a minotaur. Aurelia's shoulder was scraped by one of it's claws (and thank Merlin not it's tail), but both she and her friend were saved by the courageous Jonathan Webster whom Aurelia convinced her father and brothers to vote for in the 1884 election. Her attentions currently preside mainly with one Mr Garrett Wallingford, though his blood status is a concern for her, not because he is not a pureblood, but because she is a pureblood. She's afraid that if they do marry, it would bring scrutiny down upon their families, which is the last thing Aurelia wants to do to her family, and Mr Wallingford and his.

Personality:

Aurelia is quite possibly the most vivacious person in the Herondale household. She's always laughing and smiling, and it takes a lot for her to get angry. When she was little, her feelings got hurt extremely easily, but having two teasing brothers quickly changed that, and she learned to be as witty and sharp tongued - much to Ben's dismay - as they were. Aurelia has an adventurous spirit, and is always looking for new things to do. She has a short attention span for things that don't interest her. Like her brothers, Aurelia has extreme loyalty to her family and loves them very much. She protects them fiercely and if someone insults them, Aurelia is not afraid to speak out of place and defend them.

Though considered quite bright and insightful, Aurelia has a tendency to lose those qualities when she gets extremely flustered and is under immediate pressure. This also might explain the fact that she is not very good at understanding Quidditch, despite having two brothers who have played it avidly in their lives. This habit of losing her wits under immediate pressure is different when she sees someone's life on the line (or hers). Her mind understands the fact that stakes are high, but when it is something like being flustered at speaking to a crush or someone she greatly admires is unfortunately when she tends to be at a loss for words.
