It was far too nice of a day to be stuck inside, the last of summer clinging to the impending autumn and Molly was determined to enjoy it while she could. Of course, having two rambunctious toddlers in tow made it hard to truly appreciate the weather. They needed a little fresh air though and hopefully it would prompt a long afternoon nap, so Molls strapped them into the pram and hauled them up to the park.
She packed a blanket and some snacks, a few toys to entertain them, but really it was just nice to be out of the house for a bit. Things at home were, well better, she thought anyway. It would take a little time to get in the real swing of things, but at least things between her and Gabe were headed in a good direction. After setting up a little play area for the kids, Molly kept a close eye on Bea and Tris as they tossed a ball back and forth for a few minutes. Who knew how long it would last and she had to seize the moment and soak up the sunshine while she could.
Molly sighed contentedly, listening to her children's laughter. It wasn't until a high-pitched squeal shot through the park that she whipped her head around to see Tristan at a full-speed run toward the water and the ducks that had just landed there. Molly was up and after him in the blink of an eye shouting at him to stop, but thankfully somebody intervened before she could reach him and he could reach the water. "Tristan Edgar, no thank you!" She eyed her troublemaker sternly, realizing, Beatrix had followed her and was pulling at her skirts now. She blew out a relieved breath as her little boy was handed back to her and she laid a reassuring hand atop Bea's head. "Thank you so much." She turned her attention toward the adult who had prevented her son from an impromptu dip in the lake.
